Some curious aspects of Timo Boll's bio.

-- At the age of 23 Timo has spent 12 months in an Asylum Institution, with a daily admittance to a sporting facilities.    The fact he never mentioned afterwards.

Yes, yes, it is not a fib.

-- At the age of 23 Timo BOLL was called upon for a military service, which was then mandatory for each German's male inhabitant. He reasonably opted for an alternate Social Works in a Loony House,. Dusseldorf, as a "male nurse".   He looked after those disabled folks, clearning feces, urine pots... and suchlike, for 5 hrs a day.

"as a "male nurse".   He looked after those disabled folks, clearning feces, urine pots... and suchlike, for 5 hrs a day"

what a humbling experience that must have been. considering how humble he appears to be as a player and person now, i would say this had a very positive effect on him. kudos to timo!

i am sure it is lost in translation igor, but you don't call them loony houses.

Each time igor posts, you think to yourself - this is the dumbest and most embarrassing thing ever. And yet next time round he manages to sink even lower.

If what igor posted is true that makes Timo even more admirable... working with the disabled 5hrs a day for 12 months instead of military service is mentally more exhausting I would think.

At least he didn't use the good ol' "I have bone spurs" excuse to skip on the military.
