well if we try they might (small chance) reconsider.
but if we don't try then there isn't even this small chance. |

Do you honestly think the ITTF are going to take any notice of a couple of complaints by members from here when money is involved. A handful of complaints does'nt speak for much when you consider how many millions play the sport.

So is anyone else going to Email the ITTF and express their views? If no one complains they'll think they made the right decision (as they do already!). |

i don't care. i'm just going to use the inspirits for practice and non-tournament play until they approve it again. it sounds like such a great rubber. however i DID have to buy a cj8000 2-side loop for my rpb since i have tournament next week

That's not very expensive. Maybe I should start cooking up my own rubbers (^_^)

Nah, they just accept ittf. They have a 25% discount on the individual rubber fee for ittf approvd rubbers. On a deal like this, they know why the rubber was suspended. Not because of any physical issues. Oh, there's a $250 fee up front for a brand. Then it's $25 per sheet on that brand. |

Then tell me! (^_^) I bet the ITTF is costlier....
But aside from just paying the fee, there has to be some actual testing/analysis of the equipment before it gets approved, right? Even if Dawei "used" to be ITTF approved, I would think that the USATT would do their own evaluation. That's got to take some time. |

Dawei has always paid the approval fees. During the '02 worlds a marketing company handled that event. They solicited dawei as a sponsor, and dawei paid the appropriate fees. Now this company no longer exists. ITTF has no better recourse, so they're going after dawei stationary and sporting goods.
A lot of this is in the spin of the terminology. ITTF calls them delinquent charges. Dawei calls them unjust charges. A court would call them disputed charges. Seems to me if they had a legitimate case they'd take it through the proper channels of court. However, in an international deal like this there may be no court. Unfortunately, that also means the current dawei company may also have no recourse. Personally, I've decided to believe dawei and went ahead and placed a $400 order with them. The guy I talk too seems like a very nice guy. I'm sure one way or the other it will get worked out. If I have to I'll get it usatt approved. I know that doesn't help you guys in other countries though. The rubbers they're making now are so good I consider it a legitimate risk to take. Inspirit is purely fantastic and I believe saviga will be even better. I'm not letting anybody order it until I've made sure they're full aware of the current situation. |

It's NOT a standard fee for rubber approval. This is a different charge related to some event that Dawei sponsored about 4 years ago, and Dawei claims that it's a mistake since it's not them that incurred the charge but another company... So it's got nothing to do with Dawei looking after it's customers... |

The way I see it is that Dawei owes it to all its customers to pay the damn fees on time. Buterfly, Stiga, Donic, Andro, DHS, Friendship, etc. don't have this problem. I think all you Dawei users should email them and not the ITTF.

How do you recognize a stupid character ? He's doing stupid things . Then he also believes he's smarter than the rest of the stupid human race who will not realize that he's doing stupid things. He keeps doing so until he's prevented from doing so by force or by law decision. We should ask our representatives at the ITTF not to reinstate the actual board at the next elections. These people have clearly demonstrate their stupidity.

I like it! I wonder if they can actually legally suspend rubbers if the outstanding money is not actually related to the payments for approval. I think both gundam and samdeliman's point are very valid, and perhaps if some more of us send Emails pointing this out to the ITTF, they may reconsider (doubt it though!). Remember if they don't hear any complaints, they think we're happy!

Dear Adham Shara,
For the sake of the table tennis community, could ITTF please revise their stated rules on "How to achieve an authorization for Racket coverings" (http://www.ittf.com/equipment/Racket_cover_APPROVAL.pdf) to include a statement along the lines of "any unpaid monies will result to non approval". Regards |

Well said! I (gently) pointed this out in my Email to the ITTF, but it seems they don't see it that way! Perhaps some more of us should Email them, and point out that they are supposed to represent the players! |

Ridiculous. Suspension on use of tt equipment should be based on adherence to rules and regulations. Monetary dispute between ittf and dawei should involve accountants and lawyers, NOT tt players around the world. shame on ittf.

"Dear ITTF,
Due to your 'sound and correct decision,' I'm now changing to Dawei Inspirit rubbers. Thanks for watching out for us tt players. I whistled for a cab and when it came near The license plate said FRESH and there were Dice in the mirror. Signed, Fatcomet " |

I don't get why this is not announced on the ITTF website, surely this affect everyone, not just the USA, so it should be announced formally by the ITTF?
