How or what do you use to seal a blade? I had a blade splinter when I pulled the old rubber off my jpen. Just a clear coat of laquer or any clear coat? Would the glue affect the the clear coat?

There are threads on this subject. Here is the one:

How To Seal a TT Blade

I use a couple very light coats using polyurethane in spray form. But also have heard... elmer's glue mixed diluted down with water also works well to seal the blade and preserve the wood's natural properties.
Blade: Whatever is close
Rubber Sheet: Whatever still has some grip.

Thin layer of hairspray works well.
