OR maybe Liam is auditioning a ZLC blade that Butterfly may name after him in the near future ?

Pro players usually are using 93-95 grams or more heavier blades and today's Viscaria is pretty hard to be found 90+ grams. Mostly it is made around 85 grams, which does not works well in the hands of Pro Player, especially so high level player as Liam. Mizutani is more easy to be found with higher weight, I believe this is the main reason for the switch.

What you said makes sense, except Butterfly can easily make a custom Viscaria for Liam with a heavier weight. These Butterfly-sponsored Pros are not playing a commercial version sold to the general public.

Maybe he's tried all the ALC's and he doesn't like them as much as he thought.  So he's trying a ZLC, looking for something the ALC's didn't give him.

OR maybe Liam is auditioning a ZLC blade that Butterfly may name after him in the near future ?

Nothing of Viscaria is better than Jun?? I think that with playing close to table, Vis is better then Jun, because of the koto out-ply. Wink

I like the MJ better than the Viscaria myself.  It's a little faster, spinnier, comparable control, loops better, flicks better, even smash better too (little better in almost everything).

Hardly, only JPEN players use 1ply hinoki, nobody from shakehand in top100 players dont use single ply hinoki.

When I first saw Pitchford he used TBS then blue ZJK,TB ALC,Viscaria and finally MJ. Looks like he ran out of Koto ALC blades to try.

Have no idea why he switched. Some players, even pro players (FTW is a known one) have EJ syndrome, too. Tongue
