Gewo Nexxus El-Pro 48 shrinks like crazy. I rolled it softly and didn't boost before putting it on the first time. I've never had a rubber shrink that much.
Current Setup: TBS FH T80/BH D80

I have EL- Pro 43 and 38 and don’t have shrinkage that is obvious after 5 months. Strange.

Did you overglue the sponge or did you boost after gluing?

How can you boost the sponge after you glue it? Wacko
I didn't boost it at all. Even used water based glue.

Maybe he meant boosting after spreading a layer of glue. You clearly stated in your OP that you didn't boost.

I'm really surprised how a rubber can shrink that much.

How long was it on the blade before you took it off? I have had my Tibhar MX-P shrink on me like that after 3 months of use.

I´ve already had a lot of shrinkage issues in the past, now I follow some steps before cutting a rubber, specially tensors.
First I cut a blade form in to some hard paper. Rubber packs are good for it since they are hard enough to avoid folding.
But this is the secret: you must draw the blade shape slightly larger than the blade itself. I use a large pen to do it so the form will be 1~2mm larger than the blade. I cut it with scissors.

So when I will finally cut the rubber I use the form instead the blade. Needless to say I cut the rubber before gluing.
Oh, and answering the topic: Tenergy 64 and Bluefire JP01 were the rubbers that shrunk most.

i have used El-pro 48 and it does shrink, but only about a millimetre, that too after quite some time (i removed it after 4 months i suppose ) . I have had several mx-p and the gewo hype xt pro shrink that much though. So yeah, I vote for the mx-p and the gewo hype xt in a close 2nd .

Any  rubber (bluefire andros. ESN)with porous sponge will shrink easily especially if you remove t he glue of the sponge and leave it this way

That's really strange that Tenergy 64 shrunk. I play T80 on my forehand. I haven't experienced any issues with T80 shrinking. Supposedly, the only difference between standard (not FX) Tenergy rubbers are the pimple structures.

Another one that shrunk on me was R42. I found that the newer generations of tensors shrink more than most of the older ones. I played Rasant Grip, for a few years back in the day. I don't recall have a sheet of Grip shrinking like R42. One older rubber that did shrink quite a bit was Rakza 7.

I used rubber cement so there is some shrinkage. When I first cut the rubber I trim in with a nice 5 mm or so extra so that it shrinks. I will then play with it that way for a couple or weeks and only then trim it down.

Something is not right... I don't understand how people manage getting Tenergy to shrink.
I've glued and reglued countless tenergies over the last couple years (up until 3-4 months ago) and they NEVER shrunk on me. I always use either Free Chack 2 or Finezip. I apply it very gently and use a roller, but again, very very gently. Never had any issues with Tenergy.

I recently reglued MXP .. and it sat on the shelf for a few days on its own, without any glue. I managed to glue it back and it shrunk maybe 1mm side to side and no shrinkage top to bottom.

One theory re shrinkage that I have ... and it's just a wild guess.. is perhaps shrinkage has to do with:

 1) the amount of booster in the rubber from the factory and eventually booster evaporating (thus, no tenergy shrinkage) and

2) how the racket is stored , sealed air tight or out of case, etc.

Two key observations I've made to support the above: 1) tenergy doesn't shrink 2) years ago I stored heavily boosted h3 in a ziplock..thinking i would preserve it, and it melted glue and shrunk like crazy beyond anything i've seen before

well yeah ,basically pretty much any esn rubber from the mx-p gen onwards does shrink. Vega pro, aurus, rakza, hexer etc do not shrink a bit, however, they do curl up a bit towards the sponge, which actually is an indicator that the sponge has shrunk a bit, but topsheet strangely stays the same and hence when you glue it back it won't show any shrinkage. Dunno how these rubbers only curl up like that .

I even glued Tenergy 80 with Haifu Dolphin Glue and it didn't shrink.

Tibhar 1Q gets my vote for the most shrink, but Bluefire M2 and JP 02 both shrink, Andro Grip shrank,  Tibhar 5Q shrank but not nearly as much as 1Q.

Maybe my gluing tech as improved, but Donic JP01 Turbo doesn't seem to shrink as much as others, and neither did Acuda 01 Turbo.  My Hexer Grip doesn't seem to have shrunk so far, neither has my Victas V-15 Stiff.  So far so good.

I have had some Chinese sheets shrink, notably YinHe Moon Pro, some shrank, but not all of them.  This was from 10 years or longer ago.

If it's ESN Tensor, it will shrink if removed from blade.

If you roll it on and stretch it, it will shrink.

If you use VOC glue, it will shrink.

If you do all 3, it will shrink the most.

Do not use Roller, when you apply rubber to you blade just glue it starting from handle and then let itsort of unroll/fall on its own towards top of the blade. Then cover the rubber with book or paper, cover from currebr works too, and then just start pressing down evenly distributing your force, do no roll, do not use elbow to roll, etc..

make sure you use regular glue, not a glue that has boosting effect (speed glue, rubber cement etc).

Some rubbers are Factory boosted like MX-P and they shrink no matter what!
Good luck!

Ps. I always use sciccors and when I cut the rubber I create a small angle with scissors to the blade which as a result cuths the rubber few mm larger than the head of the racket...

Yes, it does. That was one of the most disappointing rubbers I've tried in the past couple years.

It's not too surprising that Acuda Blue P2 shrinks, since it uses similar sponge to the Bluefire series, M2 and JP 02 both shrink.  Anyone know if BlueStorm shrinks also?
