Hello,
I saw this new robot (JOOLA Infinity https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/joola/joola-infinity?ref=eni2e8) at USATT website, I'm wondering if anyone knows more info about it? What do you think about it? Thanks in advance

I find it ridiculous that an existing company like ipong/joola is trying to get customers to fund their development costs in advance of production. I wouldn't put any $$$ up front for the product.
Trainerbot is another app controlled tt robot on kickstarter that is years late. It was started by 2 guys with literally no experience. Nobody knows if that product will ever ship. Since ipong already makes robots, it's got a much higher chance of success than trainerbot. A more interesting project would be developing hw/apps to existing robots like bty/newgy. It's likely these guys are doing r&d to add wifi or bluetooth to existing controllers. This makes more sense than starting from scratch. |

I’m still looking forward to the robot. If it works well I may buy a few for my club.

Try one out for a while before buying more.
The relatively low price of this product means it's designed for consumers, and will likely not last very long for heavy use in a club. |

not sure if (besides their sub brand ipong I suppose?) robots can be divided into consumer and pro categories..? I believe wast majority of robots are used in clubs for lower to mid- level players training... The regular retail price is said to be 1000USD, so the price is I'd say a little bit above the average
