There is no real weight, and there is always quite a wide variation. Some brands have less variation than other...

Yeah, but I meant about what. Does it seem closer to 78 or 88?

My OC CR WRB weighs about 88g or somewhere close to 90g. Pretty nice blade, not as soft as the Avalox BT 555 that i ve tried, but still, very nice feedback and feels though. Speed is okie, not really fast, pretty much rely on ur handspeed. It s worth trying though.

Wow seems pretty heavy, considering in the official definition they said it is a light weight blade. Is it good for a playerl like me who likes to loop with heavy spin far from the table? Thanks.

The heavier the blade is the better it is farther from the table, since F=MA.

there's a lot of variation on the weights. sometimes the dealers are nice enough to say "plus or minus 5" just so you know that it could be lighter or heavier than what they say...

Yes, whenever ordering a blade, be sure to specify the weight you would like the blade to be close to. I played with an Energy WRB that is supposed to be a "lightweight blade", and the thing weighed in at 93g. It felt like a war club with the hollow handle. I then tried one that was in the low 80s and it felt nice.

My experience with iruiru.com/e/
Whenever I order a blade, after determining a specific blade, I ask them what is the weight alternatives available. For example my latest order was Schlager Carbon X-CS. They replied to me that they have 3 or 4 blades on stock, and they gave me the exact weight of each blade so I could tell them which one I wanted. When I ordered my Violin, I did the same, and more than that, I asked for the pictures (BH and FH) of two blades having the weight I like, and they did it, so I could roughly see the grain of the wood (on Violin it is more visible compared to others) and finally chose the one I wanted. I have bought totally 4 blades from them within 2 years. What I like is there is always a reply to my questions, even when I don't buy. |

FYI, F=MA is the wrong formula for that. That "Force = Mass X Acceleration" refers to how much force you have to apply in order to make an object (in this case, the racket, not the ball) of that Mass accelerate by that Acceleration rate. The formula you want is actually for Momentum, which is "Mass X Velocity". If you think about it, F=MA can't be right, because if I swing my racket (90g) at 100m/s at constant speed (which is "Velocity = 100m/s" but "Acceleration = 0") then Force will equal zero, which is clearly not true. Who says Table Tennis is not educational? |
