My opponent serves side spin to the FH. I hit back with top spin to his FH. He returns with underspin. I hit it back with chop with heavey underspin. He returns without any spin - just block with with paddle 30 degree clockwise direction (racket 1/4 open).

What kind of ball I may get it back? Is it Underspin? Is it because I hit an underspin for him?

I'm trying to learn the kind of ball that will come back based on the kind of spin you hit him.

That's a very confusing illustration, you would have to give a diagram.

But the surefire way is when you actually get one of those balls that you want to test the spin of, just play it with a flat racket, no side or topspin/bottomspin angle. Then when the ball hits it, you can see where it will bounce, then you'll know what spin it is.

if people play chop v chop or top v top then the spin generated by the second players stroke will be more. Because the surface of the ball rotating increases the speed of the brushing contact
