« Toluene free » is always good but the naming may hide other chemicals. Watch out.

Sorry to hear.
I have used it for 11 years and it's over 5 gallons over 4 clubs.. It is the same as paddle palace and revolutuon3 glue. |

I just used one of the three bottles (sale and to offset shipping cost) of the Demco glue I purchased near the end of Oct 2020 on the recommendation in this thread and I am disappointed. The bottles with the date 2020/10 which I assume is the manufacturing date, looks squeezed even though they are sealed, which tells me something, probably the ammonia, had evaporated through either the plastic bottle or the seal. It does not smell as strong with ammonia compared to Copydex and the first application of the glue curdled while I was still spreading it. Second application after cleaning out the first layer was better but was still very touchy. I do not recommend the glue as I believe ammonia evaporation has happened due to the material they are using in the bottle.

I abandoned Creature Liquid Latex and switched back to Tear Mender. Even with my patented, world-famous sealing job, the Liquid Latex pulled a couple small slivers of top fiber off the blade. It's crazy strong . . . would be perfect for assembling permanently!! ;-)
PS. Toxic alternatives are not an option . . . no lighter fluid, no solvents, NO VOCs. ;-)

Correction . . . The Creature Liquid Latex is VERY strong after it cures a week or so. I like it, but user BEWARE . . . blade sealing is not optional . . . it's a must or bust.

Itchy envy with all table tennis folks, -- the bulk of 20.000 litres of first -grade rubber glue, just for free.

It is the cheapest available solvent in my place. I am sure there are other things you can use.

Hi Yogi Bear, is lighter fluid the best for thinning Elmer's Rubber Cement ? I am using Herin (at lease that is the local name for diluting Aica Aibon glue), but I think it is not the best thinning agent.

I think Crazy Glue or Super Glue is the way to go. That will force you to commit to a set-up. It will be like a pre-made Sportscraft from Walmart or those hard plastic Killer Spin rackets.

Nothing beats Chemical Vulcanizing Fluid, especially the one you get for repairing Car/4-wheeler tires.

The Creature Liquid Latex worked great on the first two rubbers . . . strong adhesion. I will have to wait and see how the rubbers pull off later.

This is what I bought. It's way cheaper and less toxic (except for the ammonia) than standard TT glue. I glued on two rubbers yesterday. I wasn't sure which technique to use as there are no instructions, and this is not made for TT, so . . .
1. Contact gluing whereby glue is applied to both sides, and affixed once dry 2. Affix wet and keep compressed until dry I used technique #2, but I'm hopeful to use #1 as I believe it's better if lined up perfectly. So far, so good, but I'll report back . . . |

Grea! Thanks for the reply. I glue a lot of rubbers for ppl as well, so some good quality glue that can be purchased in bulk is always good.

I've been the cutter/gluer for 2 clubs for over 10 yrs..
I glue and cut for free, so we buy that glue in gallons so the club can resell them too. Counting the Exacto knifes alone, I already finished my 2nd box, so 200 blades x 3 or 4 rubbers roughly 600 rubbers and more Not counting other blades I tried... Sometimes I walk in the club people already waiting for me with their rubbers/blade for me to assemble, lol I have tried many glue, dhs, double fish, donic, free chack, R3, finezip, tear mender.. I am sticking with this. Can't beat it, especially when you are gluing for free

Given the cost of TT rubber, glue is really cheap. I get great results with Nittaku Finezip a d especially Free Chaque II. Stuff like Tearmender can work but it's trickier to use. I stopped loo, looking, for alterna, I want something that works perfectly every time.

I hear you. Have you tried the glue I mentioned? Perhaps not. It is a rather thick paste, our clubs have been using them for over 10 years. We used at the most, 10% of hot water to dilute it. Never had any case of damaging wood/blades. I have used it on my old blades for years and years. Fast drying, easy to clean from rubbers and blades. (I am the gluer/rubber cutter) for so many members for our clubs, btw. Edited by dual700 - 10/16/2020 at 2:06am |

WATERY GLUE IS A STRONG DESTROYER ON WOODEN MATERIALS. NEVER ADD WATER TO WG..
STIGA GLUE is the best NEUTRAL substance upon plywoods as having minimum water content 20%. High viscosity WGs, thick consistency is the best. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v= COOKERY CORN STARCH FOR CONDITIONING WB GLUE Pick up some cookery Corn Starch for getting a thin ranny WG up to high viscosity glue.. Corn Starch is most famous as an effective natural thicker... YOU will have final product much like a cookery cream easy to spread over wooden materials. /Be happy/ Edited by igorponger - 10/15/2020 at 7:38pm |

Copydex is inexpensive, safe, VOC-free, multipurpose, effective,
bonds well and holds well but is easy to peel off, since it is latex
based. |

Been using this for 10 years, bought gallons for my clubs
Some club put their badge and resell it. You'd be surprised that many many TT glues out there actually the same glue as this. https://www.demco.com/demco-reg-rubber-liquid-cream-glue Just the best, IMO |

I second this. It's good stuff. I even found an old bottle, that was half dried out, added some water from the tap and it worked great. It's 8 euro in the hardware store and the bottle lasts a year easy.

I use Copydex. Cheap, comes of really easily from the rubber and has a good bond. Frankly better than most TT glues that will destroy your rubber if you try to remove it. It almost seems on purpose...
