While playing do we always have to look at the ball till the very last or we should just get in line with the ball and then look at the other side of table where to place the ball.

When ever i play i come in the line of the ball and then give a glance where to land the ball the ratio is 60% correct and 40% wrong.

Help me on this.

You need to have focus on the ball until it reaches your paddle if you are a beginner. When you master the ball tragectory in your mind, you need to find the opponents position to play your shots.

IMHO:
Your eye MUST be on the ball as you hit it. When its going toward your opp you are still looking at but with yr peripheral vision you are aware of opp and where he is. As the ball comes back to you, first watch the ball and your opp. As the ball bounces before you hit it FOCUS ON THE BALL.

This describes the process, but I think a player with no talent will have to watch the ball ALL the time, because otherwise he will make too many mistakes. A top international will be able to use peripheral vision more

Thanks varghesep and pingpongpaddy

I do have this problem but i too beleive that if you keep the eye at the ball till the last your mistake is less but in fast returns and play you cannot, at least i cant then its just coming to the line of it and returning it of defence.

Thanks champs once again..... hope others will share there exp
