I didn't feel head heavy at all... It was a bit slower, more flex and more pleasant feeling. There's no point in any Innerforce o any other costy blade since I can do EXACTLY THE same. At 1/5 to 1//7 it's price tag.

have you played with it? I thought the head was a little larger than your required specs. I am using either the YEO (yasaka ma lin extra offensive) and it is very nice and very controlled. Not super fast, but it seems super precise. I am stuck between that blade and an older discontinued 729 two speed blade (Hao Shao champion carbon) with a smaller head. This is a fun thread to read thru with some of the older wood blades mentioned.

Great..... I actually started using Yasaka Extra Offensive for the last two weeks. I have the blade since it was introduced. I remember that I did not like it that much during the smaller ball era, but I find it very good now. It suits me well.
I was kind of torn between Donic Waldner Offensive JO shape vs. Infinity vps vs. YEO, but I settle now with YEO. |

I've come across with a replacement: Ma Lin Extra Offensive is really affordable, easy to find, hard outer layer (walnut), and woody feeling. Maybe it's a tad slower but it definitely fits the fill.

I tried Clipper CR & Ludeack: not my cup of tea. CR felt more catchy and softer, but somehow bouncier. For me it's a hassle when grabbing those thick blades specially the snap during the service. It was weird but i had the feeling I wasnt able to generate the same amount of spin as RW5.
I'm so used to it to my former RW that can't handle anyone.

I keep a sample of Hadraw VK almost like brand new, but that's another handicap: it's discontinued nowadays and i don't fancy to shell out an arm and a leg for another collector blade. I also gave it a shot to the JRE in the past. For me, it was the most hideous, crappy and dissapointing blade i've never ever tried; perhaps I had too many expectations about it du its hyped, or maybe i tried with some rubbers that couldn't match but in fact, i felt too mushy, o it was too rubber-dependant but it wasn't my cup of tea neither. About other such least know blades i'm not got to hesitate at all; they're not distributed in my homecountry and it's not worthy such hassle. Better to go for anything easier to find, affordable such as any Samsonov Force Pro (the blue one) or that classic Persson Powerplay. Actually there's no risk since they pretty affordable. Sorry for being that picky, but i own more than 20 blades and tried dozens in the past. Edited by jonyer1980 - 04/28/2022 at 5:25pm |

Persson Powerplay is a great blade. 7-ply that plays like a 5-ply. Even though koto is supposed to be harder than limba, but I feel that PPP is a soft blade. Compared to Rosewood (hard wood) it definitely feels softer.
Joola Rossi Emotion is also a great blade. A composite that plays like a wooden blade. However, it is a soft blade also with hinoki as the top-ply with koto as the 2nd layer (resulting in a not too soft Hinoki feeling). You can't go wrong with PPP or JRE. However, price-wise, PPP is very affordable. You can choose Hadraw, but as I remember, it has been discontinued. So if you like it, it is hard to get a spare or replacement. |

7 Ply Blades I own and love: Hadraw SR, Tibhar Kim Jung Hoon and Adidas Challenge Speed. The last one is no longer in production.
I know you said all wood blades, but I have to pitch in these two, as they play like fast wooden blades. Joola Rossi Emotion and Joola Aruna Off (probably a renamed Rossi Emotion). And these two are my favorites and I own several blades (Acoustic Carbon, Viscaria ALC, Harimoto ALC, Garaydia ZLC, Joola Rossi Emotion PBOC, Donic Ovtcharov True Carbon)

That's a great point too. Hadraw VK may also be interesting too, it's same as regular Korbel construction but harder koto outer ply with compact size and average weight.

As an allwood player myself (Yasaka Goiabao 5) your requirements are quite dificult to match these days..
More and more the brands are focusing on fibers and expensive blades. I suggest you to take a look at Donic Person PowerPlay - Compact head - Not heavy - Thin 7 ply that plays almost like an 5 ply - Cheap - Easy to get at any store - koto outer layer, crisp but softer compared to rosewood - OFF to OFF- range for nowdays - Swedish blade feeling (Woodhouse made) |

I think former Samsonov Force Pro makes sense or Ludeack. Hadraw VK i might give it a shot too since it's compact size, same speed as Korbel and a bit harder outer ply... And I already got it too

Try Yasaka Goiabao. It should be similar. My ST handle weighs 84g and is not head heavy at all. Solid OFF speed.

RWV is composed of rosewood - spruce - ayous - spruce - rosewood. Since you have already mentioned that you did not like Infinity, well there are other Stiga blades (with similar composition) that I would not mention here.
You don't like Korbel or TSPW because of the large head, so there are 2 more with similar composition (limba - limba - ayous - limba - limba): 1) Xiom Offensive S (it is a good blade and cheap, so you can buy it for testing) 2) Adidas Challenge Force (now ITC Challenge Force), also quite cheap but probably harder to get. Xiom Offensive S is a bit stiffer and faster compared to Korbel. Head size is standard (157x 150) and handle is normal (not big not small). Thickess is about 6.1 mm. ITC Challenge Force is the same, but speed-wise, it is slower than Korbel, but still faster than Primorac. Thickness is about 6.0 mm. For 7 ply, the closest to 5-ply (while retaining 7-ply characteristic) is Tibhar Force Pro (blue handle). It has normal head size and good comfy FL grip. It is not heavy also (range of low 80 - 86 grams). I hope this info can be a reference to you. P.S. I remember there is an Andro wood blade (Timber 5?) which has normal handle and head size. I think it is around 6.- 6.1 mm., and quite cheap as well. |

I also own a Ludeack as well. It's the regular version which I traded it a few years ago. I stored in the "grounded box" so left it into the oblivion so l should give it a shot.
I guess Tenor is same as acoustic but thicker, so heavier and an even head heavier too. |

Why not get a custom blade made? That way you can get exactly the handle shape and size you want.

That was my former blade before RWV.... It's nice too but Violin was even better. Nonetheless , it's also quite head heavy and it's FL handle sucks (even the L-size version)

I also played with it for years and it at that time was my go-to blade, but nowadays I think it's quite slow for the current PB.
