There are so many types of knee & elbow baces / supports etc & I am lost.
I do not have any problems per se but due to age I feel diffculty when getting up from sitting etc. I am looking for preventive type of knww brace or support or whatever you call it. I play mostly mid distance about 1200-1300 rating As far a as elbow I have no problem either except it hurts below my elbow a little if I backhand loop a lot. (It doe snot hurt with forehand loops I have no idea what a tennis elbow is and is it pain at the elbow itself or does it include below & above elbow ? I even sometimes wonder if people are making up stuff about having tennis elbow to be fashionable Also should I wear an ankle support ? What are your recommendations. Are compression type support the best ? I also see many pro players wear small bands or brace or support whatever, below and above the knee or elbow. Is it better than compression type ? Again all my questions are for preventive action due to age and proactive & not reactive (no existing major issue) TIA

Bump for the elbow question. I have never used this, but am having some mild "table tennis" elbow...

An elbow suggestion might be something like this below?. I've seen a few of the players I know wear something similar with a kind of compression sleeve type thing. I can only find these sites in Europe. Not sure if that might point you in the right direction as a start? Cheers

My guess (also not a doctor) is that this type of knee brace supports the knee when you have an issue with ACL or LCL weakness or tears. So a player with an injured ACL or LCL might choose this type of brace. There may be other reasons to use this I'm not aware of.
