has someone downloaded maze's training vid? can anyone tell us about it?

How slow is your download rate from Megaupload?  These files are quite large (~500MB each, except the last part).  Do you know any other file servers that will allow file size larger than 100MB at least?

I have to wait 1500 min. Anyone have AIM and can send it to me overnight?

@ GenomicsKnight: I tried your method w/ cable modem and it doesn't work. The IP address is the same, with the powersource off for 2 minutes.

The download rate is ~40-50 kb/sec, which leads to 2 hr downloads and then sometimes, I get a connection lost error.

Anyway to get around this?

wow i had no idea megaupslow was so slow for everyone. I get between 400 and 700 kb/s on downloads, with a T1(?) ethernet connection

(have pics as proof etc)

i get only about 21,7 kbps on megaupload

Some forum friends asked me for a different host from Megaupload . So I put Maze training as a single , not zipped file , on my site for one month . Theorical bandw. 1200 GB. Download managers allowed . Please, give me a feedback on the speed.

A brief (?) thing on Mega :
the change of restraint from 250 to 500 MB , made under the pressure of competition , is not painless . Mega knows well that a 500 MB file weighs as two 250 MB files on its drives ( about 1000 TB ), but MORE on the speed of its up / down connection . As you know , any server is endangered by the degree of overlay of two downloads and it is intuitive that overlaying increases with the “ length “ of the file . Servers react with two basic modalities : lower speeds or longer time lags.

For ex. , let us assume the server puts a phase shift of 100 MB between two downloads , phase shift equivalent to a time lag . Any server does it . Then , the overlaying ratio for two 200 MB files is � , for 300 MB it is 2/3, 400 MB � , 500 MB 4/5 and so on. The numerical series is converging to 1 , that is , two files ,long enough , overlap fully.
By the way , this situation causes a structural weakness of those companies who host unlimited size files ; and when we sample high down speed, we are only testing low down traffic on their connection .

Now, let’s compare Mega with Rapidshare , and 2 or more 500 MB downloads with 10 or more 100 MB downloads , under the same phase shift.
Mega can arrange at most five downloads in a single “slot “ , with only one , progressive , time lag. The sixth download is out and it is preceded by a fixed lag , the damned waiting. In this example , the peak of overlying occurs in the sector 400-500 MB of the first download and it biases the down speed of all the array.

Rapidshare can’t overlap nothing , of course ; but Rapidshare interposes ONLY 24 time lags in our hypothetical 5x500 MB downloads ; but at high speed . Moreover, to keep the system in steady state , Rapidshare have to makes , (and really it does) beckup of every upload on 8 servers, while Mega only on one, (free), server.
Which the better ?
Since we will never be able to do a true experiment , the reply is a matter of taste .
The true fact is that we face selective market strategies : Mega draws customers as middle-distance runners , Rapidshare as sprinters and MediaFire as stayers.
