Hi penholder,

I waited 6 years for the Hy blade. It was last seen in 2010. Sold at tt-japan website.
It reappear again in 2017 but with limited quantity.

I am lucky to grab 2 Jpen Hy blades (102g & 103g) and 1 Cpen Hy blade (9mm/95g) from my regular Hong Kong TT shop.  The owner"s son managed to post the Hy blade series (Jpen/Cpen/shakehand) in his FB which attract my attention. Somehow, I missed the 3rd pc of the Jpen HY blade (101g) since my Malaysian friend also interested to get one.

So, I recommended him to get the Darker Jpen S90 (10.5mm/102g) which was posted at Tenryu website.  That Jpen S90 do have the beautiful eyes and dense grain.  He was pleased the blade and even claimed is better than his previous 10.5mm S90.

If you are a Cpen player, you still have chances to grab the Cpen Hy blade from the Hkg tt shop since they have 3-4 pcs left.  They also have 4-5 pcs of the shakehand Hy blades.  All the Hy blades series are sold at 2800 HKD or 364 USD.  I have no idea if they are willing to send out the HY blades to Malaysia because I have my Hy blade during my Hong Kong trip in March.

Personally, the Hy blade is the "Custom made" version of the Darker blades.

The website of the tt shop that sold the Hy blades is www.chinastartt.com

Wooaww, seriously, at US$364.00 each, that is 2 pieces of S 90, 'normal' version.
I guess, if you have the money to spare, owning one or two of these will give you a lot of pleasure and satisfaction.
Wonder how these finest beautiful grains carefully selected, 'highest quality' blades perform and feel ?
If I go to Hong Kong, I think I will visit the outlet and try coax the owner to allow me to hold, feel, smell
and maybe take a few pictures with it and have them framed for fond memories.  LOL

To Sir ChiChoFicho,
you mentioned a very important term "Dwell time", I have experimented red cedar wood one-ply blade,
and finally bite the nail to do the complicated ODS deflection shape study on a decent 14mm cedar blade (feels good blocking and spin with T05FX)
please visit that topic and discuss, there is an exact shape and time constant for that blade.

Please let me know your thinking, peace.

Wonderful table tennis blade. I have had also one with ST handle but the handle of mine was much too big for my hands. It had this dimensions :  wideness 30,50 mm , thickness 23,1 mm. I'm interested in the dimensions of your version.

Butterfly knows Viscaria is a bestseller all-over the world. Why they haven't released their newer versions with both handles?

Hi, Redarc, by the way, what are the handle dimensions of your blade ?

And yes, I'm wondering why there is no ST handle of Viscaria to buy ?

Hulimei,

What about those buyers who invested the so called DHS national version W968 (serial # 1) shakehand from prott.vip website paying 550 USD? Isnt this price more "rediculous" or a scam?

What about those buyers pay thousand dollars for brand new the old tag red label kim taek soo? Will you called that a scam too?

I waited 6 years for the Darker Hy blade Speed 90. I knew the TT shop that sold the Darker Hy blade earned at least HK$500 - HK$800 per Hy blade, but still it worth the investment.

Maybe you never owned an expensive Hinoki Jpen blade before, therefore, you felt the seller is a scam.

FYI, the Bty Cypress Gmax is around 360 USD whereas the regular Darker Speed 90 10.5mm is around 220 USD.

The quality of the Darker Jpen Hy blade is as good as the Bty custom/special order jpen blade. So, you have to pay more for better quality blade.

I hope my small explanation above will able to understand you better about Hinoki blade.

I did ever shared my Jpen collection with our "wise and humble" Jpenmaster.  He did ever seen my Jpen collections including the Korean version Kim Taek Soo Gold Edition.

Question: what is the best way to keep/store blades you don't use? For example unused spares or those for collection purposes?
A version of Hurricane 3
A version of Tenergy

35.000 years old????? Shocked Isn't it a bit lie that the wood is so ancient? We are talking about 35.000 years!!!

The wood is that old, the trees lived for "only" about 2000.
From Wikipedia:
Swamp kauri, sometimes marketed as "ancient kauri", are prehistoric kauri trees (Agathis australis), buried and preserved in peat up to 50,000 years ago in New Zealand's North Island.[1][2] Buried under a peat swamp by an unexplained act of nature at the end of the last Ice Age, the trees have survived the centuries underground, sealed in a chemically balanced environment that has preserved the timber in perfect condition.[3]
The trees grew for nearly 2000 years before they were buried. Some have a girth of around 40 feet, and a total height of nearly 200 feet.

Not really... I bought one new, one used: together, they costed less than certain Butterfly ZLC blades...

Really? Nice job Argo. So they cost not more than one linear japanese butterfly blade. If I had a blade like these two, I would probably put them in a portrait on my wall and never glue them.

The FL blade has been wielded in battle before, and will be again.
The ST blade is new, and will stay so, not least because I messed up the handle dimensions in my order and it's too blocky for my hand, so I never used it.

Here is a close-up of the grain: shiny and quite mesmerizing.

Sorry I overlooked this post Penholderxxx, my apology. Regarding the word Hy I have no idea what it refers to, I just think it means high quality.
I bought the blade either from Iruiru or TTJapan, I forgot which one.
