Playing a tourney for the first time(table tennis anyway, played professional tennis).
any advise for an under 1000 player, playing in the under 1600 division?
I used to play 22 years ago and started again 3 months ago.
What should I focus on?
I am good on staying calm under pressure, but I want every advantage I can get.
Thanks in advance. I will tell all of you how it goes.
I will check your advise in the morning.

- dont play too passive
- dont focus on the others players rating: ratings mean nothing
- play YOUR game all throughout the match; dont tighten up or go all out and attack everything, play your normal game

hope that helps!

- vary your returns and placement
- against a high ranked player don't overhit, keep relaxed and not tense
- vary your serves
- Don't think about winning, but playing well and giving you opponent a hard time.

THANKS ALL.
I will have fun to be sure(not just playing),but I"m taking my vid cam to record some of the open div. matches.  watching great play is almost as fun as playing great.
 for me anyways.

Hey Guys,
I played really poorly today.
NOT YOUR FAULTLOL.
I did have a lot of fun, despite my back issue(not an excuse).
The tourny did not have enough "C" players and we (3) got bumped up to the under 1800 div.
Not as bad as it seems, I took my vid cam and learned lots about the differences in them and me.
It will help me in the future.
Thanks again for your help. I know I can always count on the forum members here.Thumbs%20Up
