Definitely because this way we can see if companies are actually making any progress. I was pretty disappointed by the Butterfly 40+ balls I tried, which were made in September but which are still the same crap.

hi guys. today I officially started my experiment comparing first batch of X-fa balls with my second batch. I had 1b from 1st batch and 1 ball from second batch. Warm up was with both balls. Then I started my first game with 2nd batch ball. It broke in 20 minutes. Remaining 2.50 hours I played with 1st batch ball that survived. It is not representative enough. I will continue the experiment.
Next training I will start with used 1st batch ball and new 2nd batch ball. Let's see how long 1st batch ball will last me vs. 2nd batch balls.

This past weekend I was at a tournament that used Stag seamless balls. I assume that these are of the same Xushaofa family. I am pleased to say that there was not one breakage during the whole weekend.
This is unlike my experience at other tournaments where they used Joola seamed balls. Almost one-third of those broke. |

I am pretty sure that it is the same ball, but I have not tried a Stag per se. I have used XSF, Yinhe, and now Nexy, and I like them all and they all feel exactly the same to me. There is only one factory currently making these seamless balls, so it makes sense.

Baal, did you get the chance to weight the Nexy balls? How about some bounce tests compared to XSF? Thx!

Forgot to take the balls with me to work this morning (where my balance is). Bouncing off our Tibhar Smash 28 tables and off a granite countertop the Nexy balls I just got and and some XSF balls (made in April) bounced the same height. As I mentioned above, I can't find a date stamp anywhere on the Nexy box.
Bottom line as far as I am concerned: Nexy is an excellent seamless ball and you should have no hesitation in buying them if you are so inclined and like seamless balls. Round, easy to see, and nice bounce. I play about 90% of the time with XSF balls for 8 months now, and this weekend I used Nexy both days. It was entirely business as usual. Absolutely nothing was out of the ordinary compared to what I am used to. |
