    Posted: 03/25/2015 at 12:36pm
Hi, Currently I wrap cottn rope around the handle of my hayabusa  zxi( oh xiom, why won't you make a decent handle) but during every game it comes loose. I tend to dig into the neck of the blade. Got Callous all over my middle finger. I had this grip tape once, but lost it somewhere . http://www.tabletennis11.com/other_eng/nittaku-grip-tape#.VRLjEeE0O6M
Are there any alternative grip tape? Doesn't have to be a tt brand. But I would like for it to have adhesive backing. Looked into a bunch of tennis and badminton grips but none that I came across had adhesive backing throughout. Usually just on the two ends, which just won't do for me.

I use the Gamma tennis over grip.  It is good for 2 handles.  It only comes with one finishing tape but you can use an electric tape if you are using the other half for another paddle.

I never had issues with the gamma getting loose.  You need to wrap it really tight.

This is $3 at Walmart.  It does not have adhesive on the back but it is grippy so it does stay in place when wrapped tightly.  3 wraps in the package is enough to wrap 6 rackets.  Highly recommended.

I am unable to find it online. Is it in store only?

Yinhe has a shrink-wrap grip which looks pretty decent:

https://www.megaspin.net/store/default.asp?pid=yinhe-grip

Current I sometimes use a bit of medical tape (adhesive) if need be which has good texture (not too soft & rubbery like tennis grip) but it can get bit slippery when wet from sweat.

@ AgentHex My hand doesnt sweat. I am really interested in the medical tape. Whats the name of the brand?
Currently I'm using cotton rope, that tape sounds like a huge step up lmao.

Another thing you can try is Hockey Tape - it's cloth and quite tough.
Personally, I use Tennis grips.
In New York probably get a single roll in a sports store. Might even be on sale as Hockey season is winding down.

I take it out of the emergency first aid station where I play, lol. I can look up specifically next Sat, but this looks to be similar:

http://www.amazon.com/Johnson-Waterproof-Tape-2-Inch-roll/dp/B000052XNY

The one I use comes in wider container but it's cut to 3 differing widths inside and I use the widest ~1in option; it looks like a srs bidness product in a heavy metal tin which may not be widely available.

You might want to check these out at brick and mortar store/pharmacy since the outside texture might vary and you can pick out one you prefer.

That does look great. It would take the annoyance out of getting he tape lined up. I would be interested to know the texture.

Why doesn't non-sticky tennis grip tape work for you?  Some of them like Slazenger come with finishing tape that can be cut and applied to both ends.

I'm strongly recommended Babolat Overgrip Feel VS Grip Orginal!
Only 0,4 mm thin, dry touch( non sticky) - I have already used this tape on my Thibar M. Freitas and is great!

For those who know..AVX:)

It's also worth examining why tape is necessary. I think some folks feel they really need a "firm" grip on the handle, when often a modest grip + some leverage for harder shots will do.

For example, the FL (ostensibly "topspin") grip is design so that the flare rests down the line formed by your thumb, and when the other side resides against the curve of the fingers you can swing pretty hard with minimal effort to keep it from flying.

Because i have big hands compared to an average tt player. I prefer to increase the width of the handle for a better grip.

I'm using this a long time. Becomes grippy after a few sessons.

Paddle Palace has something similar: http://www.paddlepalace.com/Rubber-Grip/productinfo/MBGR/

good non-slip grip; and is light enough not to offset the blade balance.

Get the Butterfly rubber grip. The rubber grip from Paddle Palace is junk. It is easier to put on than the Butterfly rubber grip but is loose and wobbly.
