I purchased a Jet 400 a year ago as my Butterfly Sweeris paddle was completely done. I was still using it even though the black rubber was cracked. Why wait so long? I wasn't playing much.
I started a club where I teach and got a new paddle (Jet 400) and it was by far the best paddle I had ever used. I had only used premade paddles, but was blown away at the speed a pushing block would give me. It was little effort to put myself on the offense against friends and good students from my club. The paddle made this cracking sound when I would hit a looping forehand or backhand. One of my friends even pointed out the odd sound. I had read that boosted rubbers made a "click", which made me wonder. I quickly became interested in making my own custom paddle, but Prime Day on amazon caught my eye as the Stiga Pro Carbon was at pretty good price compared to what it was had previously been advertised as. So I purchased the Pro Carbon. The foam was thicker (1.8 mm on the Jet 400 vs 2 mm on the Pro Carbon) so I was anticipating more speed, but the paddle felt flat. I couldn't get the same power unless I really put my arm and body into it. With the Jet 400 it felt effortless to hit deep shots. So that leads my to my topic question: does anyone know if the Killerspin paddles are boosted? With the odd sound, and the effortless power on a 1.8mm foam, I'm not sure why I felt more better using the Killerspin. I believe both rubbers are considered "Chinese", so I don't believe that would alter anything.
