Hi All,
I was wondering if there's any professional coaches out there who are willing to review footage of my play and give me feedback. I am willing to pay by minute of video footage and this may turn into a long-term business relationship if I continue to need this service as I progress over time. I'm officially rated about 1500 (last played in a tournament about almost 10 years ago) and I think I have improved since then. I lose a lot against players with tricky side-spin serves, fast deep serves, block quick off-the-bounce, or play an unconventional style. Basically, anyone above 1700 with those attributes that I've never played before will beat me. I will start to beat them once I play them a few more times or spend hours studying video footage of them. I play a looping style and try to move around a lot. Physically, since I'm in my mid-30s, I can't push myself as hard as when I was in my 20s. However, I do strength training 3X per week involving deadlifts, squats, and core strengthening exercises. I used to do a lot of high intensity interval training but I think I've reached diminishing returns when it comes to gaining more explosiveness. I maintain a strict high protein diet 7-days a week and prepare almost all my own meals. I've been able to stay in-shape and maintain my mobility and strength. I typically play at local clubs 3X per week and strength train 3X per week and my body has been able to keep up. If you are willing to provide this service, please PM me your coaching qualifications and a rate per minute of video. I may pay several coaches to review some preliminary video footage first, and based on the quality of the feedback, I may choose a long-term video analysis coach. Please let me know if you are interested. Norman

If you join TTEdge.com, the coach Brett Clarke, reviews video of members as an addendum to the service.

Firstly, welcome to MyTableTennis! If you'd like, you can always post videos here for a wide range of potentially helpful advice A long time ago another forum member also posted about a video review service. But I can't remember any of the details.

Hi All, thanks for the warm welcome! I've already sent a message to TTEdge to inquire more about their video review service. I also had a coach reach out to me regarding his services.
NextLevel: We've actually met a few times at the Trolley Club and you've given me some good pointers. I was the one who asked if you were NextLevel from the internet, lol. I hope you are doing well! Blahness & mickd: I'm hesitant to post videos publicly since I don't necessarily have permission from my opponents. Thanks for the offer though. Maybe if I edit the videos so only I can be seen, that may be okay.

Hey How are you? Things are good. I definitely remember you - I guess the coronavirus has made moving around much harder. Hopefully will come around again when things free up. I have lost quite a bit of weight recently so I am moving and training more though with all the rating deflation from all these tough looping juniors, I feel like I am ice skating uphill on an escalator. Good to hear from you. I have worked with Brett in some form for about 6 years now so I don't want to oversell TTEDGE and pretend I am impartial.

I'm good, just trying my best to stay healthy and make the most of the situation. Yeah, I haven't been able to fly back to the northeast recently with the pandemic. Good to hear that things are good on your end.

Samson Dubina was offering video coaching a while back. Not sure what current situation is with him but you could check out his website.

He's on paternity leave from online coaching, but he should be back after the 22nd. He's busy with the Ohio Mega Camps at the moment, from what I can see.

Hi Norman if you were 1500 10 years ago but have trouble with 1700 players now would suggest a small increase in level
You already video and study your opposition so maybe watching yourself and listing what mistakes you are making will improve your game Getting advice from afar is not the same as someone standing next to you some things to ask for in video analysis Effective warmup Stroke play shot selection foot work tactics serving return of service body position correcting a mistake (IE opposition backhand serve is returned out 5 out of 6 times) adapting to their tactics mental things, breaks, nutrition and applying your will |
