I have a defensive blade, and I used to use Killerspin Torque glue (http://www.nationaltabletennis.com/buy/Table_Tennis_Accessories/Glue/KillerSpin_Torque_Glue)

Since I ran out of that glue, I ordered a Killerspin Propel Glue (http://www.nationaltabletennis.com/buy/Table_Tennis_Accessories/Glue/KillerSpin_Propel_Glue).

After I put the Propel glue, I can't control the ball at all. There is much spin and speed, so the balls goes for a toss. Can someone tell me what kind of glue this propel glue is? Should I not be using Propel glue on a defensive blade? The differences I can see with Propel glue is very thin, and the torque glue is very thick. With the propel glue, the balls o so powerful, and there is too much spin, but no control.

I started gluing before the match because I can get better spin and control. If I don't glue, then the rubber is dead, and I can't get any effect.

Do I go back and use the torque glue instead of the propel glue? Or should I move to the propel glue, and learn controling the shorts?

they're both speed glue man.. first of all, are you familiar with the characteristics of speedglue? Looking at the setup that you have, I don't recommend speedgluing. Both rubbers are tacky and have medium glue effect. They should be good enough without speedglue.

With the old friction glue, I can see a lot of difference with the glue. If I don't put glue, the rubber is dead - no spin and no control. With the glue, I can get more spin and control. But the new glue effect with the propel glue generates so much spin and speed.

Is it because I did not give give enough time for the glue to dry before I put the rubber on?

My guess is that you have a lot of glue built up on the rubber. The thicker torque wasn't getting into the sponge and you weren't really getting much glue effect. In fact, that stuff was old or had frozen and turned to jelly when I got some on discount.

Then you went to the thinner propel which actually penetrated the base layer of glue and you actually got some glue effect. That would be my guess.
