do you want more control or more speed cause it also depends on the sponge
soft-control
hard-speed
i like more control cause im a top spin player so its going to go fast anyways lol so its really all about your playing style

do you brush or hit into the sponge?
actually a hard sponge has good control, contrary to what jake had said. although theres a gazillion rubbers out there so theres always gonna be irony. soft spong is hard to control, espcially during the short game, too bouncy. eg. i play donic f1 on my fh for pushing, good lord it pops up! |

thats cause theres a set of different techinques using different rubber.
euro, medium soft grippy rubbers vs tacky hard chinese. |

If your shots are going into the net with tacky rubbers, then it is probably the stroke and not the rubber which is at fault.

Horses for courses. If you don't like tacky rubbers then use non-tacky. If you're missing easy putaways then you have bigger problems ahead of you than equipment.

the problem with your bh isnt the rubber, it's your stroke/technique....!

Use TG3 on forehand, don't use tacky rubbers on BH, use grippy rubbers or medium tacky at the most.
