We lived in Renaissance hotel last year. Good hotel. We book at last minute with no deal. The price is 93.00/night. The current USATT price is 109/night. I checked web link they provided. Turned out it needs to pay additional 30/night. "Please note-USD 30 daily destination fee added to the room rate includes 2 one-way monorail passes, whiskey/wine tasting and more"

So almost 139/night. USATT staff on this forum, can you check that?  Anyway, I think it is too early to book. Las Vegas hotel should not that expensive.

$109 per night in Vegas in July? LOL
You can stay in a 4* in Vegas for $30/night or lest... so I doubt that a lot of people will pick the official Hotel.. The Westgate which is not a bad Hotel is like $24 per night for that time..

Well here’s some actual good news regarding the Nationals. All tables will be on the matted flooring. I would have posted this last night but they wanted to announce it first in the Usatt insider email first.

You might want to have mentioned that the 24 a night room rate doesn’t include the 34 to 40 resort fee depending on how the room was booked through.

True, but then it looks like official hotel has 'Destination fee' of 30$, which is not trivial either. "Resort fee', 'Destination fee' - same thing.

This is likely the single best thing USATT has done for Nationals in like 30 years.  Given them all the Congressional Medal of Honor.

And then put them in front of a firing squad for cutting back on the doubles events.Confused

In 2016, the resort fee was $25, so the total was $50 per night.. Still beats the $109

I just booked the Westgate for $80 a night including resort fee and taxes.

I just noticed that the we're playing in S1 which is close to the Renaissance.  The North halls are good for the Westgate.

Last year, the official hotel is westgate. It is 59+25+13% tax. I really hope USATT can negotiate with renaissance hotel to waive 30 dollar fee. Assuming five-day play. It is 150 dollars.  That is fee for nothing. If that is the case, westgate is the better choice with a long walk.

Also, several people mention that the reward price for this year US national is a joke. This is another topic.

The resort fee now is anywhere from 33.99 to 38.54 depending on who you booked your reservation with. Either way it beats 109.

Just checked on Expedia and the lowest priced hotel on the strip during that week was the Stratosphere at $59 per night plus the resort fees.  Most hotels were $89 and up plus fees.

Airbnb across the convention center, $37 a night, 1 bedroom, 1 br, wifi...it seems like a no brainer to me. Example: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/16518127?guests=1&adults=1 (not necessarily available for the nationals, it's just an example.)
For the typical $100 an hotel costs per night including all those hidden fees, people can get a 3 bedroom condo with a view on the strip. Airbnb are not the only ones in that business.
What is the advantage of hotels with such deals available?

Oh damn, nice, I'm coming then. It will force me to get into some kind of shape in the lead up so I don't just waste all that money and embarass myself, and I kind of need that arbitrary kick in the ass right now.

You should start by coming up to the Spttc April tournament.

I am not USATT staff anymore but I will ask.

All -

I did check with USATT Headquarters about this matter. If you book within the USATT block at the hotel, the $30/day "resort fee" will be waived. I was also informed that the $30 fee will appear on your bill, but on checkout it will be removed (it has to do with an internal IT issue they have that does not allow them to remove it from the initial bill)...but you will not be charged the fee. So the room rate is $109 + tax only. Please also keep in mind that this hotel is steps from the South Hall entrance.

Make sure to use the booking code to avoid any issues!

Hope this helps.

Just curious if anyone made any cheaper reservations for the Nationals?  The best I've found for the Westgate is $49 + resort fee (so figure around $85/night).

You can book directly with Westgate. Rate is 41.59 plus resort fee so somewhere between 75-80. I got my for 60 a night with the resort fee.

That's a good price. How did you manage that?

At Hotwire.com with their hot rate deal which could have been 1!of 4 different hotels but every time I’ve booked it that way it’s always been the Westgate that came up. Right now that deal isn’t available but it changes from week to week.

The best I could do is $68 including resort fee.  The hotel was $30 and the resort fee $38.
