Please visit www.vracommittee.com and sign the petition.

The objective of this website is to drum up support for the Lucky Moose Food Mart owners, Mr. David Chen, who was charged with assault, forcible confinement, kidnapping and carry concealed weapon when he caught up with a repeated shoplifter. Also we are advocating the review of Section 494 of the Criminal Code regarding "citizen arrest".

Through the web site www.vracommittee.com , we have posted the facts and related article and video footage.

I would urge you to sign the petition and pass on to your email list, we are trying to get 50,000 names in two wks. It can be done with your supports.

Lawyers have made a mess of society. A little over a hundred years ago, justice would have been handled by the likes of Mr. Chen swiftly and on the spot. Now he looks like he is lined up for way worse punishment than the shoplifter. Sad reflection of where we stand today. Sadder, is that with the kind of common person having a total lack of judgement in the use of force, it is best the old ways are gone. Mr. Chen probably used less force than needed and is in a pickle. Its not like he could say, stop, surrender, wait for a half hour (for the police) and expect the shoplifter to comply. Now he is set to go down sticking up for his personal rights as wellas for doing the community the right thing. No place for thieves. Now the thief has a good chance to be sen as a victim. Sad.

There is an option for "Outside of Canada", so it appears that it is okay.
