try softer rubbers like xiom vega europe and elite.. these rubbers are light and wil compensate well with the schlager's heavy weight

there're 2 rbrs I always wanna slap on my SC, LKT XP/XT Pro, these 2 have soft sponges and should be good on hard blade like SC. They r normal rbrs and have tacky top sheets. SC is a beast and IMHO I dun need tensors on. I could be wrong tho' but luv to really try these 2 on hard/fast blades one day.....

Try out...

FH - Yasaka Extend HS
BH- Tibhar Grass DTecs OX

You will have a racket that can disrupt the rythm of a rock concert and the power to win a revolution.

Supposing you are going double inverted and simply MUST use the SC, then try out any soft sponged Japanese rubber you like. Maybe T05 FX or Sriver G3 FX might be up your alley.

Big-D, don't really get what you mean? Is it Bryce Speed is not suitable for this blade?

I have played with a W. Schlager for the last 5 years with only a few short breaks to try other blades.  Somehow I always come back to my Schlager though, it really is a great blade.  I have tried countless rubbers on it, here's some off the top of my head:

BUTTERFLY
-Tenergy 05 & FX,25,64
-Bryce Speed & FX (normal, & tuned)
-Bryce & FX (normal, tuned, & speed glued)
-Roundell
-Sriver & FX (normal, & speed glued)
-Solcion
-Feint AG

DONIC
-Barracuda
-Platin Soft
-Desto F2

JOOLA
-Express Xplode
-Express 2

DHS
-H3
-H3 NEO Prov.

There are others that I just can't remember right now, but I have a pretty good idea of what feels good on this blade.  As far as Bryce Speed goes, I would not recommend it, it's sponge is quite hard and unless you have some serious racket speed can be very difficult to get spin out of.  To start off Bryce FX would be a good bet, it won't be super bouncy but it's soft sponge is much easier to spin the ball with.  I've also been using Roundell on my bh the last week or so and must say I quite like it.  The Schlager tends to play best with medium-soft, medium, or medium-hard rubbers, but not very soft or very hard ones.  If you have any other questions let me knowThumbs Up

p.s. - To lend some credibility to my post and not just seem like an EJ, I typically play around 1800-1900 level as an aggresive looper, but I can play 2000+ some days.  The only reason I have tried so much is that I have been searching for a combination that plays somewhat like my favorite combination in the past, the Schlager with speed glued Bryce.

try the primorac carbon instead if you havent purchased the schlager already. same blade but with a less unbelievably-thick-core, and its what schlager himself has always used. and you can see from the way he plays that you dont want a blade any stiffer lol

+1

Offensive with control and the Schlager Carbon are not compatible. No feeling at all, even with Sriver FX 1.5 mm I assume. Just my opinion.Wink

I tried this blade from one friend. He uses T25 and T05 and this thing is almost unplayable even for skilled players.

1. If you really want to buy a SC, pair it with light and easy to block rubbers: Boost TC, Roundell, etc..
2. If you can by other similar blade, go with Primorac Carbon or TSP Hino-Carbon. These two are much more controlable, even with Tenergy 05 both sides.

A tacky rubber with hard sponge should be fine on the forehand if you are a good looper. This is a better alternative to a mushy euro rubber in my opinion.

Hey i faced the same problem a while back as i wanted to change my back up setup SC with Sriver FH and BH as you cannot yield the power of SC with those rubbers ... it just felt like an ordinary All+ blade but than i took a risk and swapped my Bryce Speed FX and JO Plat Soft from my Stiga Super Carbon ... although the rubbers were a year old and pretty worn out but I am loving it now ... SC has a class of its own now ...

I use Bryce Speed FX on FH it gives an amazing feel which is very good on a hard blade like SC .... In my opinion Bryce Speed FX is the choice u want

How about bluefire rubber series?

Don't use Tenergy FX series with Schlager Carbon. Don't , don't , don't.
It's impossible to return a difficult serve. Use T05 or T80.

You guys may think I'm nuts but regular Mark V Max is very good on Schlager. Plenty of power and spin. A bit on the heavy side but not bad.

The best advice about the Schlager Carbon I can give is to not use it.

My teamate uses that blade and he combines it with some nittaku rubbers (dont know exactly) softer than T05 and harder than T05-fx.

Schlager Carbon will be very popular during the 40+ ball era.

You can have a point there! I would try it with Calibra LT or T80

some local club members of mone play with this and like don't use it to full potential. use any soft grip rubber u can loop anytime u want and still much or flick thru this ball with amazing acccruacy and speed. literally no one  got the ball back correctly.

Agree, I tried a few setup recently and it works pretty well with medium hardness rubbers that play linear.

LOL Clap

I pretty much agree. Rare ones are able to tame it, I don't personally think that there is a player on earth that actually needs the extra power and speed over Primorac Carbon.

but, even if you do, can someone please explain to me, why on earth put Mark V on it?
Like driving F1 car with passenger tires Confused
If you are able to play with SC then simply play it with tenergy, otherwise choose something else...

Just my 2 cents...
