title of topic is misleading.
Why don't you change it, like....
"Info. needed for Btfly Oberon?"

This is a discontinued blade from 1980s - very rare now; it seems there are maybe just a few in the USA, and I only directly know of two (one is owned by Larry Hodges, and another one - by my sparring partner, who has had it in his possession from the olden golden times). Some probably survived somewhere in a dusty drawer but those people don't go to forums.

It is a very thin (like 5.5 mm) carbon blade, quite flexy, pretty fast and relatively hard. Good feel and very nice looping due to its flex. Played with it once or twice - I liked it but it's not my bag o' chips; I like thicker blade with good blocking and flat game.

Perhaps you can search for it on Japanese TT forums but for that you need someone who is fluent in Japanese... maybe someone there even got it for sale. Looking for it in the US/Canada is probably quite hopeless.

as I said - beginning of the 1980s. One of the very first mass-production carbon blades.

Have you seen anywhere any info on its construction: plies, wood, thickness etc. ?

The best blade , period
I got one since early 80es
There were two carbon blades which had spawn the family:
Gergely and Oberon, first one was faster and second one slower and with better control

This is my primary blade

The top ply is definitely hinoki. It appears to be a 3+2 construction probably Hinoki - carbon- balsa or ayous or kiri -carbon -Hinoki. I always wanted to try this blade (back in the late 80's) but never got around to it. I liked the oval flared handles at the time.

Looks great! It's a shame they're no longer made, and so hard to find.

Osmar, that's a beautiful blade.  I hit with one once a long time ago, it was fantastic.

Not sure about material but the width is around 5 mm. It is aged by now and feeling is great. It is fast and with high control

@ osmar: Nice handle...  But why yours handle is different in color compared to the handle color of           picture by Pondus ?

Did it come to market along with Gergely or Sardius ?
If you ever played with Gergely, Sardius ? If yes, how are they compared to the Oberon ?

Gergely and Oberon were first carbon blades. Sardius is of later version.
I played Gergely and did not play Sardius. Gergely is more power and speed but no control.
Oberon is enough power and speed but control is much better than Gergely. And with modern rubber you wont notice too much of a difference in speed however control is essentially better for Oberon

I looked into the market to sell Oberon.
But I could not find the history Oberon traded.
So I sent it to the auction. It will be a measure of the market price.
I received a message that I want to purchase, but I can not deal with overseas shipment.
I want to visit everyone how much I can pay for Oberon's purchase

There should be very small damage (dent) in one place. There is no other damage.

We have a For Sale Section here and rules how to proceed if you want to sell blades. This is no auction site here. Plus, if you cannot handle oversea shippment what are you trying to intend with your posts? Free advertisement or what is your intention? If you want to get as much Money as possible for your Oberon it might be better to remove the Rubbers, i do not think the interested People want the Rubbers more than the Oberon

The human in this forum wanted Oberon very much.
And I was able to know how much they are willing to pay. I appreciate it.

The purpose of knowing Oberon's market price has been achieved.
Have a nice day

Hummm, don't you know google translator exists ? If this is a sh..t forum, just take a break and leave it.
Regarding your blade, I'm sure it is full of knocks otherwise you would have posted it without rubbers.
With rubbers attached on, it seems fishy.....
