if you feel the ball is slipping off the rubber when you think it should grab, change the rubber. It's as simple as that really. Generally, you can expect a rubber to last 6-12 months or more unless you're using it more than 5 hours a week or unless you haven't taken care of them. ------------- Wavestone St with Illumina 1.9r, defender1.7b Please let me know if I can be of assistance. |

Like everything, its always inspiring and fun to try something new once in a while and I think that you always should change your rubber when you feel that the rubber is losing spin. But don't forget that the most important thing is to always feel that you have control over your racket, but if you feel that you can benefit from a faster racket, why not try? You can always go back

There is a product called Falco Life Expander that when applied to the top sheet replenishes it - giving back a lot of it's grip, moisture and flexibility. A very thin layer is applied and then you just apply again when you feel it losing it's grip. This way you should be able to play with those rubbers for 3-6 months more. If you feel that they have lost power and spin - you can also use Falco Tempo Long - the rubbers will come back to life in terms of power and spin generation. If you have never used these products on the rubbers... then no matter how old they are unless they are scratched or torn...they will serve you well for at least 3 months more.
