I look forward to your review carmelomaf
, I have not tried this yet, and there's very little information on it so far.

tested yestardy and today for in sum 4 hours the p900
the blade is really awesome, more touch and controll than p500 but faster
i would say fast like p700 but with more trampoline effect that giving much more spin on your topspin
it is really impressive

Thanks carmelomaf!
Does it feel stiffer like the P700, or more flexy like he P500?

I tried it and it has a significant trampoline effect, although the speed is not as fast 9 plies would make you think it is. It also has a good deal of vibrations and reminds me on Hurricane Hao 656 in terms of feeling. I would consider it a controlled OFF blade, verging on OFF-, most likely due to its surprising thinness for 9 plies (only 5.9mm).
It feels harder than the p500 and p700 and has the flexibility in between p500 and p700 (with p700 being stiff and p500 flexible).
I think it is best suited for playing at the table - off the table it really starts to lack pace compared to my normal setup with the MLC. It excels in blocks and drives and produces a good deal of spin because of its trampoline effect. It may perform better off the table with Tenergy or European rubbers, chinese rubber on the forehand didn't work as well as it does with other blades mid-distance.
Edit: also keep in mind this was tested with the new ball, I didn't try it with the celluloid.
I have a cpen one for sale in my FS thread: http://mytabletennis.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=67109" rel="nofollow - http://mytabletennis.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=67109

Completely agreed with SChen. The construction is great (better than Stiga, similar to Yasaka). I had the cpen version, using Tenergy 05. Really impressive speed when you hit the ball well.
It has a big trampoline effect (slow on slow shots, very fast on hard shots) and feels relatively hard (fair amount of vibration).
I used it for about a week and realized that I still prefer blades with a solid feeling (i.e., less flexible trampoline effect). It was just beautiful on loops, but harder for me to use with controlled blocks and drives - someone else at my club tried it out and loved it, so I think it's a matter of preference.

Some 7-pliers I tested: - Avalox P700 (87g) - Stiga Clipper (86g) - Donic Persson Powerplay (86g) - Donic Persson Seven (96g) - DHS Power G9 (90g)
Speed: P700 > Persson Seven > Clipper > Persson Powerplay > PG9
Control: Powerplay > PG9 > Clipper > P700 > Seven
Stiffness: Seven > P700 > Clipper > Powerplay > PG9
BTW, DHS PG9 is my current blade and Powerplay is my backup.

Where's the P900 on that list?

Used Pen for P900 and clipper. P900 (current blade, about 1 year) and clipper (about 3 years):
Speed: P900 > clipper; Control: P900 > clipper; Stiffness: P900 about same as clipper;
Overall, P900's looping and pushing are significantly better than clipper, while blocking and smashing are very very close to clipper (clipper is slightly better).
the comparison is only for two blades I used. Due to variation of each blade, it may not apply generally. I suggest that one can try P900 if he plans to try a clipper.

I managed to find a very good condition P500 (Sriver + Coppa) for my Son (Who is 12yo), he was previously using a premade butterfly TBC402 (with yuki's).
So much dwell on the p500 but I find it a lot of effort to pay with compared to my C555. However, I believe it's good for my son to develop his game.
I've returned recently to TT after 30+ years, so I don't have much to compare with. Never hit a clipper yet.

i wonder if thisblade would work with short pips since my pips play nice with YEO of a borrowed blade

imo p700 is a better candidate due to being a much harder. But no two people are same. Comes to preference

The P900 looks like limba outer ply, not koto like the P500. Can anyone confirm?
|
Posted By: Bran
Date Posted: 03/31/2016 at 8:25am
Yes, it's limba. Overall it's fast, hard and flexible. Throw is rather high. Better suited for variation, allround type loopers than power players.
Finish is rough, which wouldn't be a major issue if bits of the ply didn't come off on both sides for no reason upon removing rubbers.
