Subject: Stiga Rosewood NCT VII review
Date Posted: 12/21/2014 at 1:32pm
After searching and trying a few blades i decided to stay with Rosewood NCT VII.The blade is quite thick (7ply), mine is particularly 6.40 mm.The NCT coating is quite thick so i sand the blade with a very light sandpaper(n.800) for the rubbers to stick properly.

First of all, the blade is very fast! Spin loops are very very easy to made and powerfull with this blade. You don't need to put all your muscle's power for a strong loop.I can really use it for extreme loops with my technic on the forehand either close or away from the table.Furthermore, i can feel the sweet spot which is big.I was wondering if i should try a softer rubber than T05 but i don't,the trajectory is quite long.

On the backhand i use short pimples (Spectol 21) and this blade suits with that.It is quite hard and just a little flex.I can easily hit and block spin loops without having any trouble hitting the net.So the blade is also steady in blocking having a hard feeling if u hit the ball.

As regards feeling and short receives the blade is very well controlable and flicks are also easy to made.
As i remember i can feel the blade like a Timo Boll Spirit before the glue banning.

Overall, this is a very fast blade very easy to loop with and also has a hard feel in blocking and hitting. It is the real deal working fine with sp as well.

have you tried CC7 ? how is compared to RSVII  what you dont like about CC7?

yeap i was playing for 1,5 years with CC7.Well, CC7 is a very hard blade not easy to loop with.I was having trouble in forehand looping, always having in mind to put all my power to avoid hitting the net.CC7 also sucks for mid-long distance from the table game. With RS7 i don't have to mind my forehand all the time and the loops are deadlier. On the backhand both blades work fine hitting the ball with the pips.

And how about Rosewood VII vs Ebenholz VII?

i only tried once Ebenholz 2 years ago and as i remember it was fast and hard enough but not as good as RS on looping...

Ebenholz VII is more flexy (bad for blocks) and harder (low throw angle).
I like Rosewood more than Ebenholz but still Infinity is my first choice.

I find the Eb VII is generally faster and bouncier than the RW7.  However, on the hard shot my RW can pack more power (this could be due to the fact that my RW7 is 15g heavier).  I think if you are an aggressive player, or you are one of the elite, then you may find the Ev VII a better fit. For me I like the RW better.

please guys dont confuse people here. I have all of them becuase I love Stiga, RW7, EB7, RW5, RWXO and EB5 (all around 86-88g). The fastest and bounciest is definitely the Rosewood 7, there is no doubt about that. The RW7 is a rocket, faster than the Hurricane Long 3!! The EB7 is slower because its harder and stiffer which makes it less bouncy. You feel soo much difference between them.
Rosewood XO and Ebenholz 5 are pretty close, the XO is a little bit faster here but they play pretty similiar, hard to say any differences. The Rosewood 5 plays a little bit differently imo, feels "heavier" or stumper, less feeling, the sound isn't that light, hard to describe but noticeable different to the others.

The Ebenholz 7 is for people who like light tuned rubbers on 5ply blades, the EB7 is fast enough to give you the extra 2 layers tuning of a T05 for example. The RW7 is completely different, way faster and so much more bouncier, I played a Vega Pro and a T25fx on it which aren't bouncy at all and it was springy as hell. Can't imagine something like T05fx on it...

I would say the Rosewood 7 is maybe in the Top 5 of one of the fastest all wood 7ply blades on the market, Im not sure about the Clipper CR this one should be faster of the all wood blades...

Rosewood VII may be fast, but its fastness yields no advantage at all, making your hit bouncy, that's all.
It's heavy, thus hard to switch between FH and BH.
Unless you normally play 1 or 2 meters away from the table (e.g Xu Xin style), this blade may give you the edge.

I tried Ebenholz VII and I didn't like it. No feel, hollow touch...
But I love Rosewood VII, much more feeling, quite fast (maybe slower than Clipper CC) and perfecto for topspin and blocks.

I Agree;

The Rosewood 7 matched with the right  rubbers creates a bat, good enough for top professionals.

I really like this blade with AK47 Red.

What suits me might not suit someone else.

At $14 the risk is very low Wink. If I don't like it, I am sure some other club member will.

Selling the blades you are no longer using and keeping your favourite; may prove to be a wise choice.

That way; you can focus on improving your game and technique; with a blade that works for you.

So, the Aliexpress Stiga Rosewood NCT VII knock-off has very little in common with the real blade. It is much stiffer (1399 Hz vs 12xx Hz) and faster, with none of the deep reverberating vibrations. Completely different blade. Less feeling, shorter dwell time. Might be great for those who are looking for such characteristics, but not for me.

could anyone rate the feel difference between  Stiga Rosewood VII and V and Carbonado 145.  I have the latter two and is thinking of getting the VII but is hesitant thinking it might not have a much better feel than the 145.  For me the feel on the V is great but is a bit slow for me even with rubber such as Rasant Turbo (a trial pairing)

update on my rw5, I found the Bh slow when I tried it with Rasant Turbo that is quite new but had been sitting around quite a while on another blade. I replaced the BH with a new sheet of 2.1 Gewo Nexxus XT 48 and it  played at a borderline Off minus speed which is now usable for me
