Hi! I have these two bats from 70's in perfect conditions in their original box. The Ulf Thorsell has never been used and its original rubbers TSP Astoll are absolutely new (still have their protective film!). The Desmond Douglas is also unused... unfortunately the original decal with Douglas' portrait was damaged and lost by the previous owner. If you are a collector I think should be easy to find a photo and reproduce the original decal using a laser print... you can see a blade like the one I have for sale with the missing decal at the following address: http://www.ebay.ie/itm/VINTAGE-TSP-DESMOND-DOUGLAS-TABLE-TENNIS-BAT-IN-ORIGINAL-BOX-SUPERB-CONDITION-/190860748696 anyway, except for this, the racket is almost perfect, with its original Astoll rubbers (new). It's hard to believe after 30 years (or more) are still playable!! The blades are both 5-ply, but the outers plies are different: the Douglas' outer ply seems to be Basswood while the Thorsell is probably Hinoki. The second blade is faster and thicker than the Douglas. I'd like to trade this two blades for an old Stiga (Clipper, Super-Carbon...) or Butterfly black tag in good conditions (in case paying the difference).    |
