I don't think those serves are illegal. If you observe more closely, his non-playing arm is raised at a much higher level from the point of making contact with the ball. Many old players do this because of habit. I had a guy argue last weekend that very same thing about his arm being above the contact. it wasn't really, and I complained although there was no judge available. I wouldn't complain about this guy because I don't think he's hiding contact, but I don't see how you could claim the off arm was possibly being immediately pulled back. ------------- Wavestone St with Illumina 1.9r, defender1.7b Please let me know if I can be of assistance. |

The rule is very clear ... you must move your free arm out of the way once the ball is tossed: 2.06.05 As soon as the ball has been projected, the server’s free arm and hand shall be removed from the space between the ball and the net. The space between the ball and the net is defined by the ball, the net and its indefinite upward extension. |
