Ryu just owned them with serves and pushes...i think nobody managed to attack a low backspin push from him, they must have been loaded with some insane spin!

They should have slipped in that club player that beat him at the L.A. open..

After some search, you are right - the player, Li Tianyu, was from China.

In 2013 LA Open, Li Tianyu beat Ryu Seung Min, 3-2. (In Round 16.)
(To be fair, Ryu Seung Min retired earlier, don't think he trained hard for the event. He was an invited player, I guess.)  Ryu Seung Min won 2004 Olympics Gold Medal in TT Men's Singles.

Video (Li vs Ryu):  The work of Gerry Chua (frontosa).  Lots of TT fans here know Gerry.

Yeah and given the high level at which the Korean amateurs play nobody would have thought he was not amateur.

He's a legend. Loved watching him at Athens Olympics.

My favorite pen hold player ever. He looks taller than he was a player, which means he kept his body position very low when he played. I still enjoy watching his 2004 Olympic final match.
