- Defensive blades are excluded from the poll.
- I´ve listed those I believe the best and most popular 5-ply, all-wood blades on the market, sorry if I forgot some great blade.
- It doesn´t matter the blade being shakehand or penhold.
- Feel free to post any comments.

Wish i can choose more than one. IMO Korbel, Violin, Acoustic are the best, the old gen korbel at 60-70$ was a bargain you can't beat. Had to go with Korbel on this one.

I've owned quite a few PKorbels (w/ all 3 diff. handle & old or new tags & w/ or w/o serial codes) over the last few yrs. I can't deny that PK, (genuine 1) is really a nice & amazing all wood blade, affordable & simple yet unforgettable. I still have 1 w/ An. handle which I intend to play until eternity. Stern Smile
Now, what about my OSP Virtuoso An. came w/ just painted logo? Wow, it was a shocker the 1st time I played it w/ cheap chinese rubbers. The feedback/control was/still is amazing/mesmerizing. For me. THE best all wood blade of all.

I know that OP could not mention all blades but it is unforgiveable to leave out the Stiga (Alser) Allround classic. It is perhaps the biggest selling non-recreational blade ever. It's been in production since the 1960s and is still Stiga's biggest seller...or so I've seen somewhere.

I thought about it but decided to list Offensive Classic instead since it is also very popular and was used by none less than Wang Liqin.
I would like to have more options to list but manage to include the Allround Classic removing Rosewood V, which had no vote so far.
Also enabled multiple votes now.

NOTE: I´ve changed Yasaka Extra, which had no vote to Yasaka Goiabao 5.
Also enabled multiple votes for those who like more than one blade.

BTW, I just voted my favorites: Mazunov, H-Hao and Violin.

The Bentsson blades I have owned (same build as the Alser all round wood) have all been more off- to off not at all an all around speed like say a current applegrin allplay type blade.

They feel and play very close to the Acoustics I have tried, pretty much the same speed and characteristics, I just have a little better ball feel and feeling of control with the old Bengtsson's.  Similar playing blades though.  I wonder if some of the enhanced feeling is because the old Bengtsson's have a bigger oversize face than the Acoustics.

Have you noticed what has happened to this poll?? Someone is loading the box on you.  There is no way Violin is now that high.  The voting tab will let you cast multiple votes in a row.  Someone figured that out and went Violin wild.   How do I know.  It let me cast an extra vote or two, or three.Wink I stopped my darkside at three.
I cannot tell what blade I voted for but it is better than Violin.Tongue

I used Korbel for quite a long time.  I think it is the benchmark of 5-ply all wood blade.

I also like Tibhar Samsonov Alpha and Donic Dicon.

But currently I play best with Stiga Infinity VPS V.    So I vote Stiga Infinity VPS.

I try not to cheat, but curiously I vote twice for Stiga Infinity VPS V.   It accepted both my votes.  So I guess JoeB is right.  The poll should be set so that each member can only vote once.

My second vote is only for testing.  So deduct one vote for Stiga Infinity VPS V

Andro Wanokiwami AO for me, it has a speed of TBS/Viscaria, but it has a nice direct feel.

If possible , pls add to the poll Power Wood

I decided to delete the poll. Since I allowed multiple votes anyone could vote more than 1 time in the same blade and those numbers were not real.

Thank you for taking care of this. I'm sure there is a way to set the poll up so that people can only vote once
I guess you could then restart the poll. Up to you, but thank you for a good idea

I believe there is an issue with the poll system in this forum.
In other forums, polls with multiple votes allow you to choose more than one option and than vote. But this same user is not able to vote again.

I deleted all options on the poll because there was an issue with multiple votes. People were voting more than one time in the same blade.
Anyway thanks for your opinion.

Violin is my favorite 5 ply blade for looping. It's flex and throw make for a nice tight arc. For hitting and blocking I preferred the Avenger 5/ Ma Lin extra offensive. It has a crisp feeling on normal contact and flexes somewhat on harder hits.

Looking for a good five ply too

Posted By: kolevtt
Date Posted: 08/15/2018 at 3:22pm
Best 5 ply are Limba-Limba-Abachi-Limba-Limba.
Thousands models, same blade, different technique of producing the wood.
Best models I have had and used with 100% satisfaction are:
- Mellis 93-95grams
- Cor Du Buy Rubin 95-100 grams
- Korbel Japan 88-90 grams
- Bengtsson All models 95/96 grams
- Sunflex Catapult 90 grams
- Primorac Off- 1st series 90+ grams
- Grubba ALL+ 92 grams

With the newer blades I have not so big experience, only carbons, well known.
Maybe Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive (92-93 grams) is probably all you need for successful game if you are advanced player, otherwise you can look for 85-88grams blade. Tibhar Stratos Wood 88 grams once I tested and liked too, combined with standard Aurus rubbers.
Good luck!
