Here are a few pics of the new G-max. Typical Butterfly Hinoki. I think the new design is a lot cleaner looking than the RSM.

Very nice Ryan! Clap

Kindly let us know what rubber you paired it up with and how it plays!
What weight is yours?

Yeah, I thought the same thing considering that this blade has a high price.
But actually I don't know if having perfect aligned 90 degree grains affects somehow the feeling of the blade, or is it just aesthetic?

How perfect the grain is 90 degrees has less to do with the tree/wood but how the person milling the wood has it aligned. It would be interesting to compare a 1/4 sawn piece and a rift sawn piece from the same tree. I would bet alignment really has a lot more to do with aesthetics than playability...

Just for anyone who didn't know here is how jpens are cut . This would be the end grain and why it's usually not perfect.

It a hologram Butterfly puts in all their new blades. Maybe something for counterfeiting .

most other blades have the dot on the backside.
i think jpens have it in front since no room can be found in the backside cork.
