China always sends 12 players, never more than that.
If one player, for some reason can not go, they will have only 11 players.
For some ITTF tournaments, China doesn't send any player,
but they always supports North Korea by sending 12 second-tier players to Pyongyang Open.

Japan always supports ITTF, always sends lots of players.

SKip3119 is right; last year, no one came to the china Open. China still only sent 12 players to the Open. I remember that an USA tt player was in the main draw, and his double pair was in QF LOL

When Sun Yingsha advances to the Main Draw, it will be interesting to see where she ends up.
She should not have any problems to win the Qualification matches.

As far as I can recall, the World Tours have never had U18 events.
The World Tours do have U21 events, but China has never sent players to play in those events.

Oops, you found one.  Thanks.
I just don't recall that I have seen one.

In 2013 they held China Open twice, that surprised me also.
China had players in U21, only in June's event, but not the August's event.

Yes...Smile
Perhaps , and ZHANG Rui CHN   ?

WS R32: (China vs.Japan)
In the first eight, one clean top Chinese woman, D.N.
(ITO Mima-
If R32 passes, in R16 against DN)Cry

In the second eight-two top Chinese women-C.M. and Z.Y.L.

In the third eight there are no pure Chinese women ...
(
Although F.T. And Han Ying ....Embarrassed)

The last eight is LSV ....

And this without Sun Yingsha and perhaps ZHANG Rui

Best case scenario:
ITO - D.N. in R16
HIRANO - D.N. in QF
SATO - C.M. in R16
ISHIKAWA -  LSV in QF
HAYATA - LSV in R16

(
And they can meet in R32 with Sun Yingsha....Shocked

She is like an incarnation of Tie Yana.

No doubt she took WMY to the 7th game.

Morizono Misaki led in game 4, 9-7.
But she lost 9-11.

Sun YS is out of trouble, I guess.

Update:  Misaki is playing well, she won the 5th game.
Sun YS still leads in games:  3-2.

"Should" seems a bit harsh for losing. Both are still young. They both lost to relatively unknown players. Shouldn't the coaching staff have developed a better strategy for beating these players beforehand? In the Chinese system with the heavy coaching involvement in the preparation, there's probably more responsibility on the coaches than other systems.

Also, Xu Chenhao bombed out so badly against Masato Shiono in the finals of the 2013 Japan Open (0-4), they are probably scared to ever let him play again. If they are going to send alternatives, would rather see Zhou Qihao and Liu Dingshou, but I think that LJK and LGY are still more complete players than they are.

Opportunities are not one and done. You need to beat your teammates and foreigners to get opportunities, not just foreigners. And at the respective ages of LJK and LGY, more opportunities will come. Around the age of 25 is when you become who you are on CNT permanently barring miracles or a favoritism hurting you in the past.

LGY may have one more lifeline left, but I believe LJK is done now. The funniest thing is that Xu Chenhao bombed at the final. If he had been out @ SF or QF, he would have played few more opens.
BTW, regarding the age, we didn't know the players real age Wink

I believe neither is done and if any has risk, it is actually LGY as he is able to beat Xu Xin. What you don't want is your lower level players beating higher level top players, but then losing to foreigners.  LJK's international play is likely to get better once he solve his problem (he is younger too).  And you take their ITTF age for what it is, the rest is Egghead.Wink

my bad, may be LJK has one more lifeline left as well too, since he will play Australian Open. The only reason both of them are not done is becasue CNT has no trustworthy player in that age group.

Not at all.  ZJK happens to be, when he uses his softer pleasant karaoke voice, a better karaoke singer than Ma Long, who sings off key and sounds kinda strident.  Girls all over the world have a thing for good karaoke singers, even those such as yours truly half a century older than they with a deep bass-baritone voice.  Especially if you can sing "you gotta fight for you right to party" even if you don't know the rest of the words.
