DHS rubbers on both sides in his provincial days? That doesn't seem to add up. I thought back then everyone was using tenergy or some sort of high speed rubber on backhand and the trend of using hurricane or related rubbers on backhand came about only recently. Isn't that the case?

Are 37 deg, 39 deg DHS Scale same as 37 deg/39 deg in Yinhe scale?

I find it suspicious that FH rubber is only 39 degree. Nowadays I think he plays with 42 deg.

Well, in all fairness, he started using that a couple of years ago. And if this is from provincial days of Fang Bo, then I am guessing no one was using H3 on their backhands as a standard back in those days (I am guessing Fang was playing provincial perhaps 5-6 years ago).

He probably ADAPTS to what he's given and isn't too particular on "strictly 91.23 gram clipper, strictly 39 grams cut, 41.23 degree hardness black fh, 39.42 degree 38.23 grams cut red bh..."

I remember Wang Nan used to play with tacky topsheet on both sides way back before. and I guess there were more players if you go back 10 years or more.

I think it's supposed to be. At the very least, it is close.

If you know more than me and can back up your claim then by any means please do so, but if you merely speculate wildly then that's very lame.

It's not like there weren't any players that weren't picky about their equipment. Wang Liqin, for example, was known to be incredibly picky about his rubbers and blade, changing latter around a dozen times thoughout his career. Nope, he wasn't constantly given something and had to play with it. That's not how it works. China players are not robots that you merely input with variables and then they auto win.

I swear he changed blades and rubbers so many times over the years, I'm pretty sure Fang Bo changed his equipment also. Clipper was an amazing blade for CPT at the time and of course so was H3 :D
