I have been playing with a yasaka mlc sh blade for many years now. I feel that I need a stiffer / harder blade to get a bit more oompff...
I play an offensive forehand drive attack style game with an effective backhand punch block. Can also win points with bh smashes & flicks and push proficiently.
I am not looking for a very fast blade, just something more aggressive and not too expensive. Say, not more than usd $100...
Any suggestions? Anyone tried the yasaka ek carbon yet?

Hello Shakepender.
I use the Yasaka Ma Lin Carbon too, but on Penhold grip. For me, the YMLC Blade is very comfortable to use. More to a control- Carbon blade like the Waldner Senso Carbon.
The EK- Carbon outer ply is made of Oak Wood. (My friend has one blade also in Penhold) Might just be a little harder/ stiffer than the Limba on YLMC. Speed and omph wise, the difference for me, was negligible though.
On the other hand, the Yasaka Extra 7 Power was very lively on high gears. Too powerful for me in fact, in penhold short-game. But comparing to YMLC, the YEO7 is a much faster blade with more oomph!

Thanks Chewy and bbkon! I have also been considering the yeo7 and stigma intensity blades.

Has anyone else used yasaka Ma Lin hard carbon or yasaka extra special?
What are they like in comparison to ymlc?

Yasaka Goiabao 5 is a good upgrade for YEO. It is much faster but still has the "wood feeling".
I have used 3 YEOs and 1 YEO7 but I don't like the carbon version.
