In my opinion, a robot will never beat a table tennis world champion.

If the issues were only technology I would say yes, a matter of time. But I doubt governments will allow such thing.

This robot got closer LOL:

This is the "making of" video:

There's a revenge episode:

And one more KUKA commercial:

...must be the reason why KUKA was bought by a Chinese company! Big smile

Looking forward to the first OMRON vs KUKA match.

ROFL..... that's an extremely good idea as the robot pretty much just blocks everything back... tag it with some sort of machine learning AI which allows it to learn from experience and I'm sure it will soon be as good as Pushblocker!

about the original video with the big robot vs Mizutani.....that was hardly a rally!! Such a large robot and such an underwhelming performance.

As for the Kuka machine I don't really know if it would work simply bc the video of Kuka vs TB was edited.

I have no idea how the Topio robot performs either....

The Kuka video was extremely underwhelming when it came out, would be much more interesting to see if it could at least play a little bit as opposed to a completely scripted and edited rally.
