Hello,
I've decided to switch on a Long Pips on my BH, due to injuries and movement issues...
This post is continuation to my earlier post on Long-Pips... Thanks to the advice & recommendations of fellow forum members, I've already ordered the Dawei 388D-1 and the 729-755... Since these are really cheap, I decided to order and try both....
Now, I need some help figuring out the blade. But first, a bit about my game : -
- My level is beginner - intermediate, but I would be new to long pips..
- I require Control, Control and then some more ... I want to be able to place the ball wherever, at whatever pace..
- I prefer over-the-table/close-to-table, pushing, chopping, with Heavy Spin.. My game is primarily push/chop on the BH, with sudden medium-slow, but really spinny top-spins/lops on the FH.
- On the BH, I will occasionally Drive the ball, when the opportunity presents itself, and providing my elbow is not hurting (Injury).
- I typically dead-block top-spins to my BH or FH .. But, if I happen to be away, I'll also chop back.
From What I've read so far, stiffer blades are recommended for playing with LPs. However, I don't mind a blade, with a wee bit of flex.. Would using a softer rubber on the FH of a stiff blade, compensate a bit, by adding some dwell time for my spinny top-spins ?
More on thing - I'm pretty cost conscious. So, I'm not looking for anything above $45 (USD)...

Firestarter.
I got it for less than $40 when it was on sale. Excellent blade considering the price.

Hi Tuco,
Yes, I know it's an awesome blade... but, once again, @ around 50USD, it's well out of my budget...
Has any used to Hallmark Strategy Blade ?

I believe first two are the same, or at the minimum only V3 are in stock these days. Classic is lighter and not as popular, I think.
You can also get Sword 309. It's very good.
P.S. Thinking about dwell time, stiffness, throw angles, and blade ply composition is definitely fun, but probably an overkill right now, if you never played with pips. But I've said that before.

Stratus Power Defense or Hallmark Aurora BTW, may be Gambler Oversize blades, but I am unfamiliar with them.
