Subject: Golden Edition of Butterfly Viscaria
Date Posted: 08/01/2018 at 1:50am
Butterfly China is offering a kind of Limited Edition of the Viscaria, with special package, golden tag under the handle (like seen on Yoshimura Limited) and without a lens in the handle.

http://www.butterfly-china.com/cn/?p=65&a=view&r=698" rel="nofollow - http://www.butterfly-china.com/cn/?p=65&a=view&r=698

It looks like the former Custom-Made Viscaria, but with golden tag.
The price seems to be round about 250€ or 300$.

Unfortunately I am not able to understand chinese language and do not find a button to change the language. Also I don't think, that they deliver to other countries, for example to Europe.

My question:
is there any chinese member, who can help me to buy two of these blades and ship them to Germany?

i would say the AN and CS version are more preferable for collectors as they are never heard off. cs version looks like has a thickness of 5.7mm not 7.0 as Taksim

Unfortunately, the CS version has the same blade shape as the Timo Boll CS series, which are shorter than the Innerforce and ZJK series (which resemble the DHS / Yasaka blade shape).

Not sure anyone would play with their Viscaria Golden though :)

very clever gimmick to fleece the masses.

What's next?, platinum edition, diamond edition, super duper titanium alloy tag edition?

I have to say that the ones I had that were custom made were disappointing for a lot of reasons compared to the best of the ones I just bought either from Megaspin or from people here.  Unless you are looking for a special handle shape I would be skeptical that you are getting anything better.

Hey we have all these blue boxes left over from the custom shop and all these gold tags from the Yoshimura blade what do we do with them? Slap them on a 20 year old blade and double the price hahaha oh and make a few different handle types so everyone buys....

ST & FL (FL hopefully should be as good as ZJK ALC's FL, not as sissy as FL of TBS & MMaze) are too common.
AN would be very comfy for my taste.
I'm waiting..Ryan.

Bty doesn't have to make a special edition to rip you guys off. they are doing it plenty already with their regular products.

If you want black tag quality and feel and don't want to be ripped off, you should try Double Day (M.I.T.) as I believe they were responsible for making all the carbon black tag blades before Butterfly changed the factory and went to silver tag.

The Speed King is better than any Boll ZLC in my opinion, I have just ordered a Mercury SZLC which has the same composition as a Garaydia ZLC but replaces the ZLC with SZLC Clap.

Blades come smooth as butter, they never chip or break (built like tanks) and the veneers never splinter, best craftsmanship I have ever seen from any blade maker.

Their version of the Boll ALC is the best to try out first and it is only $73! They still nail the tag on the bottom the same as the black tags, it just doesn't say Butterfly anymore. Link below:

You bought it? Congrats!

I am looking for the penhold version but it is only available at prott.vip at US$550. I am waiting for the quoted price from BTF, about US$300.

Is it really a limited edition? and the butterfly logo is gilded?

That would be great Juanma! Thank you in advance!

Please help provide us with more information about that blade, e.g., composition, dimensions, gilded logo or not.

This blade is quoted by BTF China at about US$300 but currently not available in some online distributors such as Dpin1000 or Pingpang354...

Prott.vip is selling at US$550 but I don't think it is worth that much :)

ok! first on the image from the first post the butterfly-china is just telling the properties of the blade viscaria that we all already know, just the new logo gold. then exist official retails who can sell this blade i will put the links below this post, and well tomorrow a familiar will call from those numbers on the page on butterfly asking the retail price and not from other stores( no official dealer) that's why they put their prices. ok next time i'll bring more info from Butterfly-china. links:

One interesting thing is that this handle is completely different from the custom ones they made for me a few years ago, where the handles were very square indeed and not at all like the original Viscaria ST.  Very uncomfortable and it was a big reason why I sold the blades.  This one wouldn't have worked for me either, but I just mention that it is different and probably better than the ones they made for me.  Like the ones they made for me, there are no plastic badges on the handle.

My recommendation?  Buy the ZJK-ALC instead.  All of their handles are pretty good.

$550????????    That is bat$hi# crazy.

yes, it's too much!!! 550$ it's the price from other stores! look i found it and the price like the official page because it's from ttshop who is an official dealer from butterfly-china i let the link, but it's sold out, guess someone in China buys the blades and obviously will sell more expensive! so careful with big prices.

http://www.ttshop.cn/goods.php?id=4283

this the link to buy directly 1980 yuans like the official page, it's around 289 -290 $ worth it? well depends, regards! maybe take a few time to load the page if not enter on the link before more up comments and write viscaria.

Golden Viscaria is identical to regular Viscaria. Kiri core ,Limba,Vectran + Carbon aka ALC and Koto outer veneers . It has the same gold tag as Yoshimura, has no print, available in all handle styles and comes in the old blue custom made box. Specs are all the same as a standard Viscaria you pay the extra money cause it's a limited edition.

Yeah not sure why anyone would pay $500+ for a blade Butterfly prices at $300 even though it's the same as their $150 blade that's been around 20 years. Especially if you buy it in flare. Does anyone know how many pieces were even made ?

Yes, that's also what I think. Why should anyone buy this Viscaria with FL handle?
ST could be an option if you have small hands.
The former custom made Viscaria ST (without lens) had a similar price (300 USD).
