There will be live broadcast of the semis and finals, like always. It's just that there won't be any live streaming like in 2017 and 2018.

↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓
Labo Live just announced 9 hours ago on Twitter that live steaming will be available starting from the 14th!

Yes, Jan 19-20 will have live broadcasting of the Semi-finals and Finals.

1-19:  from 14:00 on (Japan's time, or 14 hours ahead of US Eastern. About 12 mid-night on Jan 18.)
1-20:  from 10:00 on (Japan's time. About 8 PM UST on Jan 19.)
(As far as time conversion is concerned, I am not sure I got them right. You can do it yourself.)

They last about 2-3 hours each.

HAYATA Hina?
In the Japanese league, she is the only one who plays so far without defeat ....
Including there are victories over Ishikawa ....

I like your adventurism, picking Hayata Hina as Women's Champion.  Perhaps Ishikawa will not play Ito.

Thanks,

How do you assess the likelihood that the first will be Mima Ito, the second - Hyata?

To go to the top four, Mima Ito will need to play with Miyu Maeda, and if she wins either with Ando Minami or Hashimoto Honoka ...

To get into the top four, Miu Hirano will have to beat Morizono Mizuki, and then Sato Hitomi.

To get into the top four, Kasumi Ishikawa will have to beat Hayata Hina, then Marina Matsuzawa or Shibata Saki.

the fourth participant is either Kato Miyu or Nagasaki Miyu ...

The prohibitive favorite is Harimoto.  I do love the thought of Jun striving over the last year to change his game style to play closer to the table.  It is a sign of a true champion.  I don't think anybody can beat Jun other than Harimoto in the Japan National Championships; his results in the tournament are legendary.

All that said, my contacts indicate that none of the men/boys in Japan are conceding the future to Harimoto.  They are going after him.  This sentiment is also true for the women's side concerning Ito; many others are coming, including Harimoto's sister.

This is good stuff!!

Thanks,

Kenta won against harimoto the last time they met, I think. If he meets Kenta again, he might be in trouble.

Harimoto rarely loses to someone twice in a row (although there a few exceptions like Xu Xin, Pitchford, Liang Jingkun etc..), so i'm pretty confident he'll beat Kenta when they face again.

Hi,

Today, January of 2019, Harimoto is an outstanding player.  The next Olympics is 2020, a short time away.  I do not think there is enough time for him to develop in all the facets of the game sufficiently to win the 2020 Olympics Men's singles crown.

His Olympics are 2024 and 2028.  That said, he is a contender, among many, in 2020 for an individual medal. [A team medal is a lock.]

Thanks,
