The best I found for hitting everything on the forehand was Spectol Blue in 1.5 thickness. I found spinney medium-hard thin sponge horizontally aligned pips the best hitting pips on forehand. If you get really bouncy and thick sponge, in my opinion its a lot harder to hit every ball. It also depends if you want to hit completely flat wobbly balls or if you want make some spin. If you want to hit completely flat balls, you might want to try a medium pip. Globe 888 (medium pip) is a monster for hitting on forehand if you know how to use it properly. Even when I played with pimples, I liked to make spin. Medium pips are hard to do that, but if you put in the time and effort, medium pips that can hit flat balls can be really effective. A lot of inverted players think that when you switch to pips, its super easy and you automatically become good with that rubber. It's not true. You'll need to develop your technique and touch depending upon what you want to do and what rubber you choose. That's going to take some time. If you just want to hit, there are some inverted rubbers that can hit too and don't feel all that much different than some short pimples. The blade also makes as much or more difference than the rubber. What is your level? What kind of blade do you use? Do you already play short pimples? Maybe I can help you more.

Thanks to all for any and all comments. I'm hopeful that this thread is useful for anyone interested in hitting through spin. In my case . . . I'm trying to zero-in on a rubber that will allow me to smack any high ball regardless of ball rotation. For me, it's not about failure to read spin or laziness . . . I'm simply physically unable to loop and perform some other standard strokes; however, I can hit hard and use a little topspin, which helps drop the ball on the table and/or roll over the net. In the past, the spinny SPs liked 802-40 on soft sponge and Winning NP-8 worked best because they were similar to inverted, but I came to the conclusion that there was no point to using them if nothing else changed . . . it was like I was using a crappy inverted rubber . . . I wasn't taking full advantage of a pip. I think I need to redesign my stroke or something . . . I'm not sure . . . but I am sure I need a new plan. Playing wise, I do enjoy serving and rallying until my opponent makes a mistake (high) and then knocking the ball home for a winner. I see that all of you guys also liked Spectol Blue for forehand. What sponge thickness did you use it in? I always like liked in the one they called "1.4 - 1.7." That one had the best feeling. I always felt that going up thicker kinda muted the feeling. but I didn't gain that much speed or spin. I had a nice conversation with Tom from Zeropong. For hitting through spin, up close, and not needed to generate a lot of spin . . . he suggested checking out a MP, i.e., 563-1 or other. The trouble with my SP experiments, as before mentioned, is that unless I changed my stroke it seemed like I was using a so-so inverted. I lost more than I gained. Like I mentioned before, Globe 888 medium pip is a beast hitting rubber if you can learn it.
