it's pretty simple.

they are the country with the highest population and table tennis is their national sport.

if the reason was their secret training method then they would apply that secret method to every sport and win every competition of every sport.

secret training methods work differently in various sports. Also they pretty much are the best in the sports that they focus on. Table tennis, badminton and gymnastics. Right now they are trying to improve their football/soccer infrastructure.
