My H3 topsheet is merely grippy and has lost basically all the tack, but still plays way better than something like an MXP - of course it's boosted but that said, the topsheet has way more grab and 'kick'.

Does anyone have any experience with why, even without tack, the H3 still play way better?

I would hazard a guess that it is due to:
- remaining grippiness on the topsheet
- hard topsheet and relatively hard sponge

Also my H3 tack only lasted about 2 weeks so just wondering if this is normal

Maybe because your sponge and topsheet are broken. When U heavily play with chinese, after a while It would become softer.

Try using some olive oil, it worked wonders in restoring tack lol....

Just wash away all the dirt with 1 droplet of liquid hand wash soap on each side. Use water and your fingers/palm. Dry using air only or clean sponge.

Never experienced tackiness to go away in 2 weeks for Chinese classics like Hurricane or 729. Also never paid more than 21 USD for rubber.

Do you mean H3 (as in double happiness) or Nittaku Hurricane Pro 3 Turbo Orange as in your signature?

the prov and above H3 are way less tacky(if at all) than the commercial so maybe spin is not directly associated with tackiness

China National team rubbers aren't tacky as the commercial ones. It can been seen before some players service

because any decent rubber boosted will play better than the best rubber without booster.

Because you have good technique. Your stroke is powerful enough to let the ball penetrate deep to sponge. In this case you will find out that mid-tacky topsheet still could generate great spin and deadly speed.

H3 doesn't need to be tacky as it will bring inconsistency to your short game and counterloop.

There is no real "pro", "prov" or "NT" H3 in the market.
Falco is not a booster

if you boost it the stick goes away quickly. if not it stays sticky longer
