was using butterfly rozena.
switched to joola rhyzer the other day.

all of a sudden I have big problems controlling the direction of the ball.
not so much when I loop but in shots where I just let the ball bounce on the racket.

anybody agrees or disagrees?

Rozena is probably the most control of any rubber on the market.
 Joola Rhyzer not so much.

Pretty sure 05fx is more control than rozena. I assume this is a BH rubber?

it's not control in general.
it's directional control.

receive the incoming ball and it bounces of the rubber like it was a piece of glass, even though I put the racket pointing to a specific direction.
same thing in pushes.
they just pop up a lot.

I think this is a common thing of all tensors.

the butterfly rubbers seem better for this, it's like they grab the ball more.

I don't have too much experience with 05fx. I personally find T80 and Dignics easier to control than Rozena. Not that Rozena is difficult to control. T80 has more spin which gives your more safety. Dignics has more dwell and more spin, again more safety.

I do have a sheet of T05fx waiting for my new Clipper Cr to arrive from the states. I tested another guy's set up at the club who was using Clipper CR with T05fx on both sides. I was so surprised by how good it felt to hit with his setup that I ordered one for myself. lol

Wait, I thought you said in an earlier thread that equipment doesn't matter in the end. I'm confused.

theory says in the end I would get used to it and play similarly to what I was playing before.

Rhyzers are very fast rubbers.

I have experienced this 3x times (that I can recall) over the years. Each time it was due to a damaged rubber either due to bad re-gluing or the glue (SG) causing separation between rubber and sponge.

Maybe, just maybe ....., you can't handle tensor rubbers yet.

The remedy is practice, practice and practice.

I will dissagree that the 05fx is more controlable than the rozena! Rozena are more controlable...Maybe you feel the softness of the FX sponge that's why you think they are more controlable.
Anyways the difference is really small!

Control means different things to different people.

Rozena has better control on service receive (when you misread the serve).
T05fx has better control on service receive (when you correctly read the serve).

Fault tolerant rubber is during passive play is often different than forgiveness during active play.
Does that make sense?

This dichotomy is why higher level players have different opinions about the same rubber as lower level players.
