The LA Open has 370 entries so far. Will it be running late like it has for several years?

Give them a chance.  I'm sure they've spent a lot of money securing a hall at the Long Beach Convention Center not to mention the tables and vinyl flooring and lots of prize money as well.

I would hope they would run on schedule and have no reason to believe they won't.  The amount of entries shouldn't concern you if the facility is large enough.  If they have taken more entries than they can handle then that's a bad move on their part.

Spending a lot of money on a tournament is a good thing.  Spending a lot of money and putting on a poorly run tournament is not  good thing.  For me, the quality of the tournament is more important than the amount of money spent.
