I assume that China has really recovered from Covid-19 already.

Anyway, hope there will be live stream for the event.

I won't take a bet but I understand why you say that, the dude is so solid in and out, a WLQ in the making. Frankly I have no clue what Covid did to the minds of LJK, LGY and WCQ but those are my fav and I'll enjoy watching them battling it out. I predict they'll keep each other in check like the big 3 in tennis who before all are that high in level because each other. I can't see talent separating clearly any of the 3 from any other, same for the 3 cnt stars.

With his new find BH, LJK is a level above LGY, WCQ. Just want to watch LJK vs ML

I think it would depend on the draw, it looks like LJK wins against FZD who wins against ML who wins against LJK, generally speaking....

Hi,

In the recently concluded team competition, clarity was provided.

There is Fan and there is Ma Long, and there is the rest.  The rest are very close but Wang is the best among the rest.

Thanks.

On most reasonable days, I would agree with you.  But if the Ma Long we saw at the Olympics simulation tournament shows up, good luck with that.  That version of Ma Long I don't think loses to anyone.  Though maybe FZD knows enough of the tricks to avoid pushing long serves...

Yes that Ma Long was really scary, he completely out-controlled and destroyed an in-form Wang Chuqin. But it seems that from some past matches FZD has sort of deciphered Ma Long's game, so maybe those variations and tricks don't work that well against FZD anymore...

ML and FZD are good, but can not definitely beat other guys like LJK, XX, or WCQ.

It will be a big boost to LJK if he wins it again.

Congrats LGY.

He is scary. His mental game is improving: wouldn't he have lost that match not a long time ago? especially when he was ahead 2-1 7-3 (best of 5) and lost that game? maybe he does better in team events with a friendly herd to support him?

He takes the ball so early and goes for it on all strokes with extreme speed: there is no parade other than playing like him and that's what Ma Long seemed to do (indicating LGY's domination, he imposes his style) but if LGY lands his balls, he has the advantage of being at his prime with more speed while Ma Long is on the slippery edge of an advancing age.

When LGY is stable, there is no way he can be stopped. His problem is the same than anybody up there but his is more pronounced: since he is closer to the table, his super fast strokes must contact less, meaning a more tangential strokes to grab the spin and that means a finely tuned game more prone to error that might prevent him from truly dominating in the long run because one just can't sustain such a commitment with continuous success: a bad day and he loses everything. Those who are further away or stroke less intensively have more control but are less lethal. It's a fine balance that LGY pushes to the limits and we don't know what will happen: it is possible he will never detach for good his game from the pack. It is also possible he will live a year or 2 above all, with no competition to threaten his run at the top.

LGY's run is awesome but he might be never that far ahead to the point he worries anybody in the top 10. They will all say "he is just on a good day, it's not gonna last." I am afraid they might be right but I am not sure at all, next thing you know and LGY clinches a grand slam... or not. Time will tell.

I would say Zhou Qihao is the least stable among all. LGL will not trust him enought to let him play in big tournment.

Do you think any player will possible come out much stronger than before after the almost one year quarantine?

I would say, it is possible.

Good observation.  I wonder if Wang Manyu can beat Sun Yingsha now?  It appeared Sun was stronger pre-Covid.  Wang Manyu looks oh so strong now.

Thanks.

I don't think the gap is wide enough to significantly privilege SYS over WMY at this stage.

All due respect to the 2015 WTTC MS finalist, he seems a bit obsolete when facing a all-in-on-all-shots consistent LJK. Fan Bo did not have the solution, LJK is a monster now.

I dont get it why he cant play with h3 42deg black on FH.
my theory is that LJK wants to get more power in his BH since he cant move fast to use his FH

He could play a black H3 on FH. I guess the problem is from his BH. He can not find a red H3 with blue sponge for his BH. Whoever suggested a 41.5 H3 for his BH is a genius. The guy now has arguably the most dangerous BH on earth.

Wow never seen such a dominant Chen Meng before... She really increased her spin variation significantly this time and played slower and safer and further away from the table... The strategy seems to be super effective against Sun Yingsha surprisingly.

Yes, she played really well. But 4:0 against SYS is a little surprising.

They had to switch to expedite system at the end of game 3 ! (Too many net serves and hand-wiping.) Chen Meng seemed to handle that better. Otherwise SYS may have won that game at least.

Yeah that was the most ridiculous shit I've seen... SYS is a little bit like FZD, uses fast equipment and relies heavily on precise blade angles to make her ultra fast game work...if you throw her off her rhythm she's gonna make a lot of unforced errors...

Whereas CM and LJK who play with a lot more spin, and slower (more time to adjust) have much safer games which are not so vulnerable to rhythm changes.
