Did you notice they do not share how they glue the plies together? Is that too deep to expose? especially the technique to work with the composite plies, epoxy and all.

just had to ask!

so... how about 2 pieces of wood glued together for the core and we dress it with double carbon outer?

remarks:

-hipnotic taught us the bond from the glue is stronger than the wood fibers themselves so no worries about the 2 pieces core.

-at 56 sec, the pressure goes downwards to get the 2 pieces of wood bond horizontally, it's counterintuitive but I assume he knows what he is doing.

-the hand vacuum pump at 6m42s is way cool!

-205g rubbers included, that thing is a cannon but the Yinhe Apollo and RITC 729 he glued om it should tame it.

-it doesn't matter there are not wood outer plies, we just wanted to see how to glue the carbon plies on wood. I suppose http://www.amazon.com/Crystal-Clear-Table-Coating-Tabletop/dp/B01LYK2NAG/" rel="nofollow - that kind of epoxy would do.

-he uses ebony for the handle caps so it could be much lighter and as is the balance should be low.

-he does not take himself seriously and just enjoys building a blade LOL:

Butterfly's process is obviously very complete and refined over the years. But I must say that the first video is just awful, they basically eyeball everything. Probably "good enough" for a production blade, although I think those handles will feel very different from each other, but the custom building process is much more exhausting.
