Was that the longest game ever played in a WTT event?

Even though he's so laid back and doesn't look engaged, Matsushima was easily the best player of the four out there.  His placement was excellent and plays within himself allowing Miwa to flourish, and poor Hayata was often on the receiving end of his loop bombs.  If he keeps this up, why not consider him for the 3rd player to play doubles in XD and Men's Teams doubles in Paris.

I hope I'm wrong, but Hayata seems tired to me.  I guess the thinking is there's just a few WTT tournaments left in the year, and she probably won't be entering Paris Trial #6 so she's got nothing to lose.

I see that she's signed up for WTT Champions Frankfurt.  Wonder if it would be better for her to join the Pan Am Games instead for the points:

What do you by "keeps"?  Is it her fault that the WTT is doing what they are doing and are you accusing her of willfully exploiting that to inflate her ranking in some manner different from Hugo, Omar and Quadri?  If her game is good enough, it will show, continental inflation or not.

Conspiracy or not, w/o continental points, Diaz is the one in top 20 with the biggest drop this time. YXX is once again the only European to be inside top 10. Mittelham, SXN and Takahashi are also once again where they should be.

2022 Week 36 – 6th September 2022
http://mytabletennis.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=91440&PID=1131384&title=joola-global-championships#1131384" rel="nofollow - http://mytabletennis.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=91440&PID=1131384&title=joola-global-championships#1131384
Quote For the women's ranking, Mittelham, Shan Xiaona and Takahashi would actually be outside the top 20 without the continental result.

http://mytabletennis.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=91440&PID=1131388&title=joola-global-championships#1131388" rel="nofollow - http://mytabletennis.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=91440&PID=1131388&title=joola-global-championships#1131388
Quote Diaz would still be in top 20, but she would be the one with the biggest drop after those 3, other than the few who would drop outside top 50.
YXX would be the only European to be inside top 10.
Han Ying and Pocalnova would be just outside top 10.

It looks like she doesn't have a choice:

Players shall be added automatically to the event entry list by WTT based on the ITTF TTWR published at the entry deadline. The participation of players is mandatory.

It's pretty unbelievable that WTT schedules a Champions tournament at the same time as Pan Am Games. This also affects Hugo, Bruna, Amy, and Lily - seriously?

Wow, yeah that is seriously poor timing.  The points by winning her match vs. Miwa are huge especially in this context.

Hugo wins 4-3, but it's good to see Pitchford make the Finals.

Qiu Jianxin is really something, getting Diaz to the final.

SF Harimoto 2-3 Diaz (her 2nd win over top JNT players, after 3-2 Nagasaki at WTT CT Lima 2022)
QF Lee Zion 2-3 Diaz
R32 Pavade 2-3 Diaz
Miyu Nagasaki won 3-2.  I remember https://worldtabletennis.com/eventInfo?subEvt=WSINGLES&selectedTab=Draws&eventId=2574" rel="nofollow - that tournament because Miyu lost to Mittelham in the Finals.

Nonetheless, a great win for Adriana over Miwa in this tournament

Should be 4-2 Nagasaki at Hungarian Open 2020. Copied the wrong line (working on quite a few players concurrently).

Congrats to Adriana.  Making the finals should be enough to get her back into the top 10.

She is soon going to lose her continental points from last year so she will fall out again pretty soon.  They will be replaced by Semifinal points from this year's Panamerican Champs.
I see that she's signed up for WTT Champions Frankfurt.  Wonder if it would be better for her to join the Pan Am Games instead for the points:

It looks like she doesn't have a choice:

Players shall be added automatically to the event entry list by WTT based on the ITTF TTWR published at the entry deadline. The participation of players is mandatory.

It's pretty unbelievable that WTT schedules a Champions tournament at the same time as Pan Am Games. This also affects Hugo, Bruna, Amy, and Lily - seriously?

Team USA roster for the Pan Am Games does include Lily and Amy - so I guess they are getting an exemption from WTT.

Pan Am Games also count as Olympic qualifier in mixed doubles.

Yes, surely. She's also in mixed doubles with Brian Afanador.
