Hi all,
On a whim, I got one of the new Sanwei H10 blades. It's a one-ply hinoki, 8.5mm shakehand. A cheap experiment. Anyway, it arrived and it's a gravity-warping 104g. So I could do with some cheap, light, slow-ish rubber options for it. Bouncing a ball on the blade reveals it to be bouncy, so I want to tame it with some cheapo nasty light rubber. Any suggestions are welcome, as well as some help lifting it up off the floor. Andy.

This was a great signature until I realised it was overrated.

Focus III Snipe. Light and cheap. But even with Snipe on both sides, your setup will probably weigh about 180gm.

Found this blade on eBay, then googled "Sanwei H10" and found your post.
(Beside eBay, Eacheng.net sells the same blade too.)
According to the description, the blade is made ifrom Cypress.
On eBay: ($45, free shipping)
Eacheng.net. ($39.99 plus shipping charge)
Do you or anyone else find that this blade plays OK?
As a recreational player just for exercise and fun, I am not very picky.
(At $45, the price looks good for a recreational player.) Edited by skip3119 - 05/27/2013 at 3:41pm |

1 ply hinokis should weigh at least 90-100g with cork grip(105- 115g with wooden grip) since they are supposed to be played one sided Jpen

Since it's an experiment you could try 802-40 1.8mm on both sides. Then you could experiment with a hitting game too. Then you would understand pips better when you play against them. It should weigh about 170g.

Two sheets + glue weigh 66g on my Mazunov (160x153 head).
Since that blade is so thick you could cut the rubbers short (as on a cpen). Then the total should be less than 170g.

Sanwei H10 one ply.
According to Mfr's web site (in Chinese), the wood used for this blade is 面材:美洲桧 or American Cypress. (More pictures.)
