Those are China's best women players.

14 men and 16 women players, all get to play - no one is on the "W.L.".

The entry deadline is Dec 16, only 2 days away, still no Japanese player.

Any info about how ranking points will be handed out? ITTF is changing the system again to a weekly system with a bigger gap between Finalist and Winner finishes.

In Japan, in January, the Emperor's Cup and the Empress's Cup ...At the same time as a tour in Hungary ...
Most likely, there will be no Japanese players in Hungary ...

Look at the names from Sun Yingsha on down.  Wow, this qualification will be extremely tough especially for those that have a CNT compatriot in the same group.  This is why I do not like the change in 2019 that protects the seeded players.  Getting through qualifiers is a tournament in itself.  Then, you have to have the energy to play the seeded players.  Yet, seeded players are guaranteed full points win or lose.  Even if the full points are not as high as before in R32, seeded players are still at an advantage.

Fully agree with you ...
By the way, if C.I.C. will not withdraw the application, it will rise above Ito Mima and, quite possibly, Wang Manyu in the rating for February ....Embarrassed

Still no Ma Long. If he keeps this up, he’s going to have to play qualifiers.

If he doesn't play any world tours and doesn't play April's WTTC (3000 ranking points will go off), he will have to play qualifier beginning in May, 2019.

It doesn't matter to him as he can win the qualification without any problems, but it will screw other player(s) when they run into him.

I think the big one will be in March as his 2018 German Open Platinum Tour winner points (2250) drops off.  He has to play March's 2019 Qatar Open (Platinum event).  In reality, only the top 14 places are protected seeds since 2 Main Draw seeds are given to the host country.

To add to this, qualifications is no cake walk. He might get really unlucky and run into someone like LJK. Coming back from injury, that would be very tough mentally and physically.

The probability for that to happen is very small.
If it does happen, either one loses, it will simply distort the future ranking.

A forum member who is very good in estimating ITTF world ranking, VladCeller, sent me this PM.
(I don't know if he has resolved his problems or not. He said he was unable to post.)
=================================

I have problems with the Internet, I can not leave posts on the forum ....
I sent personal messages about the problem to the administrator and one of the forum moderators, the third day there is no answer ...
However, they are unlikely to help ...
Most likely I have a problem ..... Something with the operating system ....

According to the results of the tournament in Hungary - small changes in the third, fourth, fifth, sixth places of WS are possible .... .... The same players, only their position in the February rating can change ... Within limits 3-6 ... The other top 10 WS remain unchanged ....

No player is on the W.L., all players can play.

The rule (6 players per gender per association) is not enforced.
Hosting association decides whether the rule will be enforced or not.

Curious ....
Ding Ning withdraws from Hungarian Open
10 Jan 2019

https://www.ittf.com/2019/01/10/ding-ning-withdraws-hungarian-open/

Maybe someone else from the top Chinese women will not participate?

If He Zhuojia makes it through qualifiers, I bet every seeded player will be praying they don't see her in the 1st round.  Same goes for Liang Jingkun on the men's side.

In WS, the main intrigue is whether C. M. or L.S.W. can take the third position in the February rating ....
He Zhuojia will certainly rise above (she has only six entries) ...But the chances of getting into the Top 20 on the basis of the tournament in Hungary are still small ....Perhaps this will be after the tournament in Qatar in March .....
After Qatar, it will be much more difficult for her to rise higher in the rating ... Eight entries ....

Why should she play the qualifications ? she belongs to the best 16 in this tournament, most of all with the non participation of the Japanese team.
Yes, I see, they gave some places to local players.

I guess that many players join this event just to get familiar with the facility as WTTC will he held here too.
